Hi. This is a quick, extremely short, one-shot between Sadie and Anubis. Meant for Sanubis lovers only. (During The First Meeting Between Nico and Sadie)
He doesn't understand what draws him to her. All he knows is that he loves her. And something like this has never happened before. Who is he, a god, to fall in love with a mortal? And falling he was, hard.
The first time he saw her, he wasn't sure what to feel. Sure, he had seen his share of beautiful women, but this girl was simply breathtaking. What shocks him though, is the way her face turns into a stunned mask, as she takes him in. He feels he should say something to her, before it's too late, but he is nervous. All he tells her is a warning, as he makes a temporary leave.
He can't help but notice when she glares at Set, his father. And he can't help but silently agree. She looks so beautiful when in fury, though. He feels loved when she looks at him, a slight look of concern etched into her stunning face, as he rushes at his father. When she disappears, and is absorbed by Isis as she is being chased by Set, he feels part of him disappear.
Fast-forward to Sadie's time
When Anubis sees Sadie before she is whisked away to Nut, he can barely contain his excitement. Perhaps he had a chance! But wait. Who was he, a god, to be hoping for a chance with a mortal? He hadn't thought about it for years, but it was definitely against the ancient laws. Why, oh why, couldn't he banish her from his mind? And why was this feeling of falling overtaking him again?
And then comes the time she visits him in the Land of the Dead. Okay, maybe not just him. She was with her brother ad that dreaded cat, after all. It was hilarious, though, when she yelled at him after disappearing, and entrusting the Feather of Truth in her hands.
Time flashes by. The birthday kiss. Ra being restored not in the best state of mind. Then comes that scum of Hades. When he can see Sadie falling for him, ever so slowly, he knows he lost his chance. And he knows Nico is better than him, in ways he will ever understand. But he can't help but wonder what life would have been like had everything gone as planned.
