Disclaimer: I don't own Rent. This is a sequel to I'm Falling In Love With A Woman but you don't need to read IFILWAW to understand it. All you need to know is that Angel is female in this story

Angel looked at the homeless woman on the street. She looked like she had been through hell and back again.

"Hey artist," the woman said to Mark, "You got a dollar?"

Mark just looked down.

"Didn't think so," she said.

"I'll catch up with you guys," Angel told them.

Just that afternoon Angel had earned $5,000 from a lady in a limousine.

She had given some of it to Collins. She had given some of it to Mark. She had given some of it to Roger. That meant that she still had $3,000 left.

"Sugar," Angel said gently, "I think I can help you. Here."

She handed over the $3,000.

"Why are you doing this for me," the woman asked suspiciously.

"Because you're a person in need," Angel said, "and I was once a person in need too. I want your life to get better. It was a person just like me that gave me a second chance. I was once down and out. Someone lifted me up. I was once a lonely girl. Someone became my friend and I want to become your friend."

"Well alright," the woman said relaxing, "I'm Noel"

"I'm Angel," Angel replied, "How long have you been homeless for?"

"Nearly 3 years," Noel said, "My older sister died and when she died I was thrown onto the street. She would pay my bills. I couldn't afford it even though I worked 3 jobs. My landlord made me an offer. I could sleep with him or move out and I chose to move out."

"That was a good choice," Angel said.

"He was married," Noel continued, "He was trying to punish his wife by sleeping with another woman. I'm a widow. My husband died in a car accident along with all 4 of my daughters. I miscarried my son. That was when Hannah took me in."

"Hannah was your sister?"

"Yes," Noel said, "She raised me since our brother died. Our parents were killed in a car crash and our older brother took care of us for a few years. He died of cancer though when he was 23. Hannah was 19. I was just 10. I was their second surprise child. They adopted our brother."

"Well listen," Angel said, "You just call me. I'll get you set up with all the things you need."

She gave Noel a hug. She wished her a Merry Christmas. Then she left.

Tom who was watching this smiled proudly.

An angel of the first degree is right, he thought to himself
