Roderich and Elizaveta looked at the crying woman. Sure held the baby in her arms and slowly raised the infant to Elizaveta.
"His father doesn't know his existence since he's been out in sea for nearly 9 months! I don't want him to know about this child's existence! I beg of you! Take this baby and raise him as your own!" She cried.
Elizaveta carefully took the wrapped infant and held it close. "What about your son? Doesn't he know about this baby?" She asks.
"He's only 5. He doesn't know what pregnancy is! This whole time he thought I was eating too much so I rolled with it..."
Roderich kneels down. "Is this baby your husbands?" He asks.
"100%. The baby has his smile already and he's the only one who has ever touched me. This baby is full blood with my son."
The couple exchange worrisome looks. "Then why don't you want another baby?"
"My husband told me about this curse in his bloodline. If there's ever a second born in the family, that child will suffer great consequences in the future. I'm hoping to save this child's future! Only this solution came up and this is the best I can do! You two are the only ones I can ask to do it! Please! I beg of you!" She began crying more. "I don't know what I'd do to myself if I just gave the baby to a random stranger..."
"We understand." Roderich said. "You can count on us. We'll keep this a secret between us! No one else should know about this."
The women nod. "Thank you so much! I owe you my life!" She wiped her tears and sniffed. "Is it okay if I come visit with my boy from time to time?"
"Always." Elizaveta said and smiles gently.
The woman nods and slowly walks away. By the time she was out of distance, the couple look down at the wrapped infant.
Suddenly the baby starts crying and Elizaveta quickly unwraps the face. She gasps and slowly her eyes turn loving. Even Roderich couldn't resist.
The baby had rosy cheeks and fair complexion. It's eyes were honey and looked so warm. The baby blinked a couple times and coos happily.
"Shall we check the gender? This baby looks so much like a girl." Elizaveta spoke.
"Y-Yeah." Roderich responded.
Later on they found out the baby was a boy. Which was surprising because of his appearance.
"I'll go wake up Daniel. Telling him he has a little brother now." Roderich looked back at the baby one last time before going to the other room.
Elizaveta rocked the baby and hummed. "You're going to be very special when you grow up. I can feel it." She whispered.
"Mother!" Cheered a young boy, who was Daniel. "I heard I got a new brother! Can I see him?"
"Yes, but be careful. He's still a newborn." Elizaveta bends down and shows the baby.
Daniel smiles then raises an eyebrow in confusion. "I don't get it. I didn't hear anything and I don't recall you having a big tummy."
Roderich kneels beside the boy and places his hand on his shoulder. "There's certain cases where the belly doesn't grow. You mother wasn't aware of his existence till she felt something and gave birth. Miracles happen for a reason." He smiles.
"True! So what's his name?" Daniel basically looked like a puppy wagging his tail.
His parents look at each others eyes.
