Atsushi sauntered down the large hallway, his backpack slung lazily over one shoulder. His hands were stuffed in his pockets, and his posture left much to be desired. He didn't look like he really cared, though—his features displayed his boredom, plain and clear. He would've been closely observing this new environment, had it not been for the killer headache he'd been enduring for the past week. Was it really worth it to get into this stupid school? he wondered.

The teenager's destination finally came into view—a huge door with a giant "1" painted on the front of it. He picked up the pace, wanting to get away from the crowd, when he felt something poke him in the back. He spun around, mouth open to apprehend whoever was bothering him. He stopped when he saw a girl behind him putting a long plastic pole with a pointer finger on the end into a pocket that should not have been big enough to fit.

She looked up and waved at Atsushi, her ginger pigtails bobbing with the movement. Atsushi just stared at her with a middle bothered expression as she made her way over. She stopped in front of him, and he noticed several things about this girl: 1) none of her brightly-colored clothes matched, 2) everything about her movements were bouncy, and 3) she was a full foot short than him.

"I love your hair! Is that your natural color?" she asked excitedly, pointing to his bubblegum-pink locks.

Atsushi grasped a couple strands of his bangs between his fingers and simply answered, "Yeah." This girl was making his headache worse. He released his bangs and ran his fingers through his hair with a sigh.

The girl held out her hand with a smile. "Well, my name is Myoko! I'm in the Hero Course, Class 1-A!" she chirped.

What a pain. Atsushi turned around and continued on his way. He stuffed his hand back in his pocket. After a few seconds of silence from Myoko, Atsushi called out over his shoulder, "I'm Atsushi. Guess we're in the same class." A few more strides brought him to the door. He stopped and turned his face up to the ceiling, eyes closed. When he walked in this door, a new chapter in his life would begin.

A familiar, annoying voice behind him said, "Are you gonna go in or what?" He opened one eye a glanced down to find Myoko beside him, trying to figure out what was so interesting on the ceiling.

Atsushi turned his face back to the door and pushed it open.

And so it began, a new chapter in his life, as he walked into the classroom with this girl bouncing along behind him and everyone's eyes turning their way.
