It seems to me there is so much more to the world than the average eye is allowed to see. I believe if you look hard, there are more wonders in this universe than you could ever have dreamed of. - Vincent Van Gogh from Doctor Who
The room was damp and dark. Pools of water were scattered around and a distinct musty smell hung in the air. Moss filled corners and gave the room a sinister darkness to the corners. A single window was set into the wall, bars set close together but far enough appart to let a little light through. The window it's self was no more than 30 cm accross and was covered in moss and dirt. Rocks that made it up were weathered away and crumbling, yet still able to hold in it's occupants. It was night outside and the moon hung in a clear sky. It was unusually large and bright, blcoking out any visible stars. Below the window was a chasm of darkness. Trees were growing on the side of the crumbling rock below and were completely bare. in the distance, the land was flat and completely dark. Inside the small cell, a wooden door was set on the wall ajacent to the window. A window identical to the one in the wall was set near the top of the door and an old fashioned key hole and door nob was set into the wood on the otherside. Curled up in the opposit corner to the door and he window was a black dog. It's head was resting on it's paws and great Yellow eyes stared at the offending door that kept it enclosed. It's body was thin, so much so that you could see the poor creature's ribs through it's skin that was streached across it's skeloten. Rats were making it's way into the room by a small hole beside the door. They had been feeding of the creature's wounds for some while and the poor dog had long since given up stopping them.
All was still except for the rise and fall of the Dog's sides, showing it was still breathing, and the Rats as they scurried across the room, Drinking from the puddles and nibbling at the poor dog's skin. The Dog's eyes shut as the door swung open, a light creak emmitted from the hinges and a tall creature walked in. The Dog watched it as the creature's skin seemed to change colour with each step. What had the human called it? Iridescence, that was it. The property of certain surfaces which appear to change colour as the angle of view changes. The Creature walked in and stopped infront of the Dog. The rats were long gone now as a strange item was held against the dog's neck. A needle was felt puncturing the skin and the dog thrashed as a hot feeling enveloped it. The substance from the needle ran through it's veins as it changed it's physical and mental being. The Dog spent a few minutes thrashing and fell still. Breathing was slow and steady and as the dog opened it's eyes, Soft yellow was replaced with blood red.
