"Our nanny is a time traveler," announced the older of the two children, seated opposite Sherlock.
"Boring," he replied.
"No, wait- why do you say that?" John interjected, pen at the ready.
"We've got pictures to prove it," the smaller one, the boy, said, handing over an envelope. John took it.
Inside was a pile of photographs, obviously taken at different times. The boy left his chair, crossed the room, and reached over to describe them.
"No. You stay there. We sit here. You talk," Sherlock directed. The child scurried back to his seat.
"Umm, there's one of her, that we took last month, with us," said the girl. "And then there's one of her, but…it's from the 1800's. And another from the 70's. She was only just born in the 90's, I think, maybe the late 80's. But there she is, grown up, outside that old house. The house was demolished in 1983, before she was born."
"They could easily be faked. Next," Sherlock said.
"No, hang on, I don't think they are. At least not by two kids. No offense," John said, carefully examining the photos. They portrayed a young woman, short, and very pretty, with bright dark eyes, a snub nose, and sweet smile.
"You're right. Two arrogant, silly clods like them couldn't have done this."
"Sherlock," John sighed.
"Was that rude?"
"Yes, that was very rude."
"You just said the same thing, only more 'politely'."
"I did no- oh, never mind. Who's the man? He's in both of the older pictures."
"That's her boyfriend. They fight, like you two," the girl beamed.
"We. Are. Not. A. Couple!" an exasperated John cried. The boy looked at him skeptically.
"Clara won't admit it either," the girl said kindly.
Sherlock clicked his fingers, and John gave him the photographs. He scanned them quickly.
"Hold on- John, computer. Now."
Sherlock's bony fingers worked over the keyboard like lightning. John leaned over to see that the detective had pulled up an amateur blog, not unlike John's own.
THE DOCTOR
Who is this mysterious, many-faced wanderer? He seems to travel through time, appearing wherever there is trouble. If you know anything about him, or would like to, this site is for you.
*Unfortunately, our blog was recently deleted through unknown circumstances. We are trying to recover all our evidence, so please excuse the incompletion!
Several photos accompanied the blog. They showed multiple men, and, sure enough, one of them was the same person as in the children's photographs. Sherlock stood up.
"It's time I paid the Doctor a visit."
