You can do a timeskip or each chapter can explain how their friendship grew. You can give jaune motion sickness or not its up to you. Finally, Jaune's semblance is weapon mastery like how dante is from Devil May Cry 3. Also, jaune can have up to five swords along with the legendary blade only he can use called Tyrfing and Conwell you can have him find the two legendary swords or he obtains them during training.
