So this is a side story I'm working on, until I can get Hippocampus up and running. Life threw me for a loop and I can't quite catch up, but chapter 8 is coming together. This is a story that just wouldn't stop bothering the inner confines of my imagination so now it's here.
I don't own Naruto, this is not for any profit, any dictionary definitions are from the dictionary, and any medical aspects are from my nursing textbooks.

Chapter One: The start of something new

Rebirth: noun – a second birth, a reincarnation.

There was a flash of lightening and the electrocardiogram continued it's steady beating after fluttering slightly. A young woman shifted against the darkness of the nigh. The moon was her only company for tonight because the nurses were doing their rounds. Her indigo hair looked limp and flaccid, her alabaster skin looking pastier and the usually rosy blush on her face was long lost. Her hospital gown covered a slowly thinning body of a twenty-year-old woman with legs that had trailing tendrils of blue color traveling up. Lips that had always been smiling now held a grimace with a tinge of blue surrounding them. The dressings on her various wounds had started to seep with blood, machining her even weaker.
This young woman's name is Kiminoto Hinata, named after the Naruto character Hyuga Hinata, and her life is about to change.
Her heart started constricting, her ventricles fluttering even more so, as the thunder and lighten increased in their ministrations in the sky. The rain started pouring down from the sky. With her eyes closed all she could remember was her mother and father telling her bedtime stories with the Naruto manga. However, even this began fuzzy as the ECG beside her bed started its fluttering recordings.
Hinata's bright blue eyes opened wide in the darkness as her heart failed in fighting with its dying rhythm. With a gasp she shook and seized before falling back and taking sharp spaced breaths before lapsing into a never-ending silence. The thunder and lightening raged on with the rain, the night nurses still continuing their rounds despite the silence of their last room down the hall.

Hinata looked around her, or at least tried to. 'I thought dying would involve much more light and wings,' she thought to herself as she looked around in the darkness. Looking down she saw that she was just a ball of fire or something that looked akin to it. Shrugging her nonexistent shoulder she followed the other balls of flame that she had seen going in a line somewhere, before something else caught her eye.
It was this odd-looking light at one end of the black abyss. Finding that she didn't have anything to really loose now, she went down into the light to investigate. However, once she had reached it she saw another ball of flame almost being sucked in. Ramming into the other flame to push it out of, what she thought was, harm's way, Hinata got sucked into the light instead. The little ball of flame she saved, if it had a face, looked confused and that was the last thing she saw before she became engulfed into something else.
She felt as though her lungs were being compressed into her back as she tried to open her eyes. 'Oh my God! I have eyes! I think I even have limbs…What the hell is this?' she frantically tried to wave her arms ad the rest of her body was freed from the confines it was apparently in. What she didn't know was that her journey was just about to begin.
