Carlisle's POV
I was sitting in the living room with my wife, reading a book, while she was interested in whatever had been on the TV. Loud laughter and shouting coming from the backyard, interrupted me from my thoughts. I looked up, listening. What on earth could that be. I closed my book and walked to the backyard, to find my children and granddaughter running around playing what looked to be a game of tag. Renesmee ran up to me and Esme.
"Do you want to play?" she asked. I looked over at my wife, who was grinning.
"What are you guys playing?" I asked, turning back to look at Renesmee.
"We were just about to start a game of vampire hide and seek. You can be it." she said, poking me and running away screaming, "Carlisle's it," I hurt the footsteps off my family disappear and I looked over at my wife. But she wasn't there. I laughed and began to follow the scents that had been left behind, but they all led right to the river, and then the disappeared. Clever kids. I thought to myself. I tried to decide which direction to go first, while at the same time, wondering how on earth I had gotten myself into something like this. It must have been Emmett's idea. He was always coming up with the craziest things to do. I remembered last week, he thought it would be a fun idea to knock down a few trees in the forest and use them for jousting. Esme and I had put a stop to that fairly quick though. I looked up and down the river, deciding to head downstream. I started to walk and I heard the leaves above my head rustle. I heard a branch snap, and Esme landed on the ground with a thud, ten feet in front of me. She was on her butt, staring up at me with an ,innocent five year old, looking face. I laughed.
"I always seem to meet you after you fall out of a tree," I chuckled, "Is this a regular thing you do every 80 or so years?" I joked, pulling on her arm, helping her up. But instead she pulled me to the ground.
"I can't get up doctor," she said, throwing her bottom lip out. "I think I've broken my leg". I laughed at her child like behavior.
"Let me look at it," I said, running my hand up her leg, slowly. A moan escaped her lips as I moved higher, past her knee and up her thigh. My hand reached her hip and she pulled me in close, wrapping her arms around me, kissing me. I felt her hands go for my belt.
"We're in the middle of the forest, love. What if the children were to come along?" I said, breaking out kiss. She smiled and stood up.
"Fine. But you owe me later." she said smirking at me. We ran off and found the other in a cave in at the far corner of our property.
"What took you guys so long?" Emmett asked, as we all walked back to the house. I kissed my wife on the cheek.
"Your mother fell out of a tree, again?" I said laughing. Bella looked confused,
"What kind of vampire regularly falls out of trees?" she asked.
"I wanted a vampire the first time," Esme said defending herself. I pulled her closer to me.
"But every time, it reunites me with you," I said kissing her temple.
"I know," she smiled. "And I love it more each time,"
