MANIC(depressive)
A Victorious Oneshot

They said they didn't know why doctors diagnosed her as bipolar; she was never depressed, always happy&hyper&fine just fine. ( You can't comprehend what you can't see. )

Kids makes their jabs at Cat, she jokes/smiles her way through it. Later she leaves the room and cries.

She unpins her hair from its perfect updo; long strands of red velvet cascading down in front of her face. She hides behind her little curtain of remaining childhood... And she b r e a k s down.

Cat was always the best at playing hide & (no one) seek(s her).

When she gets home that day, her mommy and daddy aren't there (are they e v e r?) and neither is her brother. She skips happily around the house, humming a tune from her fave kiddy show (Wonder Pets, yay!) and chews on a stick of celery.

It's like this often; happy even though she shouldn't be (oh the r o s e . c o l o r e d . g l a s s e s), until someone reminds her why. It's why she tends to avoid the internet (it's full of meanies "you're stupid" and "fat fat fat" and she just can't take it because she knows these to be true; her daddy told her so and what reason would he have to lie to her?)

Her pearphone rings; she has a new Slap notification.

"You're so screwed up," Jade jokes - at least she hopes - in a comment on her latest update. It was about unicorns and rainbows or such, she couldn't ever remember. Cat had the worst memory. When it came to the good things... The bad left scars no magic eraser could ever hope to eradicate.

So she leaves some positive reply for Jade to find, but the tears flooding her face betray her true meaning.

But that's the way it is... an emotionally damaged teenager trapped in a perfectly wrapped Valentine to the world.

And no one ever cares enough to save her.

( They don't even give her a second g l a n c e. )

So... ahem. Um... Yeah.

Ellie.
