The voice floated over to him on the breeze. Ivan tilted his head his head towards the sound of that voice. It wasn't sweet, but it was haunting, full of an unnamed emotion. He picked up the pace heading closer to that intoxicating voice. He found the source, a girl standing in a back alley, the orange light of a street lamp lighting her in a fiery glow.

"They wanna see blood,

They wanna see hate,

Like a needle in your vein,

A sickness with no name,

In a world that's insane,

Was America to blame?

When you're praying for a change,

to a God with no face!" Her voice rang out into the night, her arms and body flowing with the melody like water. Ivan stayed back watching her from the shadows. It was strange to see this petite girl singing with such angry force, yet her voice sent shivers up his spine.

"Eenie meenie minie moe,

Each one of us gonna know,

That your time is coming so-" She cut off mid-note, whipping around to look at where Ivan stood, hidden behind the edge of a fence.

"Who's there?" She yelled, pushing a mass of platinum hair away from her face. The boy didn't respond, just stayed back. After just staring for a moment, the girl looked away, laughing at herself.

"Jeeze, I'm gettin' paranoid in my old age." She laughed, her voice much rougher than when she was singing. She didn't resume her performance, just walked off tucking her hands into her worn black coat. Ivan stayed standing there afterwards thinking about her. He wanted to know more, hear more.

"I'll probably never see her again." He muttered, walking in the opposite direction from the mystery singer. Yet, a small part of him wanted to run after the girl, but he tamped it down and resumed his walk home.

A/N: Jut a little late night drabble, I'm thinking about continuing this, but what do you all think? (BTW to those of you waiting for a KB update, I uh, I lost my notebook ^^;)

The song is "America" sung by Duece, just cause I could see her singin' it
