It has been 11 years since the D-Reaper incident. Since then Rika Nonaka has reunited with her digimon partner Renamon, graduated from college and, less than 2 months ago, moved to Empire City for work.

Mischievous, weak digimon occasionally bio-emerge around the city. While Rika is working, Renamon handles these digimon on her own.

One night, while patrolling the city, Renamon finds herself in a tree on the edge of one of the parks in the Neon District. While watching the people walk by, she starts to think about the friends she left behind in Japan. Her thoughts are interrupted when she hears something rustling in the bushes.

"A digimon?" She thought to herself. Before she could do anything else, a cloaked figure sprang forth from the bushes and rushed down the path towards the streets outside the park. Renamon decided to give chase, always staying a few feet away from the figure. The cloaked creature exited the park and dashed across the street.

"Hey, watch it!" Yelled a yellow jacket wearing bike courier. Renamon continued to follow the cloaked being, choosing to run across a traffic light instead of the street. The figure ran down an empty sidewalk and took a sharp left down a sparsely lit alley. The cloaked figure stopped under a light before he turned to face the wall. Renamon, while looking around the corner, finally got a good look at the stranger. What she saw surprised her.

"That's Ezio from 'Assassin's Creed'." She quietly said to herself. She recognized him from the times she would watch Rika play the game. She also played God of War and Mortal Kombat, but that's besides the point. While thinking about Rika's tendency to play violent video games, Ezio began to scale the wall. Curious as to why a fictional character was running around the real world, Renamon decided to climb up after him. As she was trying to catch up to Ezio, Renamon thought to herself, "Digimon were once thought to be nothing more than fictional. Maybe he is some kind of digimon?" After reaching the top, she peered over to see Ezio jump to another roof.

"Where could he going?" She thought. She pulled herself up to the rooftop and continued pursuit. Renamon was always one rooftop behind, making sure she was as quiet as possible. She noticed that Ezio has stopped moving and has started talking to someone. She ducked behind a rooftop air conditioner unit to avoid detection.

"Card seems to work fine." Ezio said to the other person.

"Did you ever doubt my abilities?" The stranger replied.

"A little... Okay, a lot." Ezio said.

"Well, Andromon, now you know how reliable I am. I just wish other people would see that." He said while they entered the building.

"So that was just an Andromon modified by a card." Renamon said before moving to where Andromon and his tamer were. She noticed that Andromon's tamer dropped the card used to modify Andromon. Renamon picked it up and said, "I should show this to Rika."
