Love No Longer Requited

My naked soul lies weeping crimson tears,

While it's shredded, twisted, and discolored

By the world's bruises.

A jaw-cracking shriek splits the veil,

As rent flesh sends blood dripping

Like a coppery syrup.

Ragged screams paint the night,

While transparent flesh tightens in pain

From the searing words.

The screeching metal of a single voice,

Carries beads of crimson that roll along

The cold indifferent steel.

Bullets of accusations flying like demons,

And your broken toothy grin, a crackling fire,

Coating my lungs with ash.

A black mist converges on my soul's identity,

Shrouding the acid tears that scar my cheeks

And a razed yester year.

A fragile glass mosaic on dew glistening wings,

The rich honeyed memories drip unbidden

On the mind's tongue.

Velvet petals kiss my cheek, spun rubies.

Bell-like music rolling underneath my skin,

Weaving graceful sonnets.

Curling strands of hair lying limply on my stomach.

Fragrant skin of purity with the silken caress

Of golden feathered locks.

Tasting the world's warmth, coated in love.

Glistening happiness sparkles from the depths

Of sun-kissed eyes.

Pearl columns stand a patient watch over centuries,

Exalted flash of light outlines crystalline perfection:

An unsolved lunar mystery.

A rich elixir of pain and sorrow bittersweet,

Alone the soul's facade cracks in spider webs,

As I weep on deadfall leaves.
