The three of us, we were forced to play together by our parents. I wasn't sure why, but I didn't object. Most of the time, we just sat around doing nothing. But on occasion, we would play a game. Or two. Perhaps even three. Sometimes I got to decide the game. Sometimes I didn't. But it was fun. They were fun. And because of that, I didn't mind it.

I draped my pink coat over my shoulders and ran through the flowers and trees. It was a beautiful sunny day and we were playing in my garden. "Fly!" I cried, jumping up onto a large rock. "See any danger?" Below me, Yahiro raced past the rock and jumped over a stepping stone.

"Up ahead!" he shouted at me. I jumped from the rock and raced after him, my pink makeshift cape billowing behind me. We passed Kei, who was sitting under a tree reading a book. He barely looked up as we flew past him at superspeed. "Look!" Yahiro yelled. I followed his gaze to the top of a tree. On the highest branch was fluffy gray cat. "Meow-Meow's stuck in that tree!" I gasped.

"Let's go!" The two of us dashed towards the tree. Yahiro grabbed the first branch and pulled himself up. I scrambled up after him. "Don't worry, Meow-Meow, we'll save you!" Yahiro reached Meow-Meow first and picked her up. With a loud meow, she jumped out of his arms to a lower branch. " I've got her!" I called. I gently wrapped Meow-Meow under my arm and began to climb down slowly. Suddenly, Meow-Meow swiped at my face with her paw. I gasped and my foot slipped from underneath me. "Akira!" I heard Yahiro yell. I held Meow-Meow tight as I fell through the air. Wait for it…wait for it… To my surprise, I felt myself falling into someone's arms. I looked up to see Kei's annoyed face. "Be more careful," he muttered, dropping me on the ground. Meow-Meow jumped out of my arms and scampered off. Yahiro hopped down and landed in front of me. "Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah," I answered, brushing myself off. "Let's do it again!" Yahiro looked nervous, but joined me as we raced off around the rosebushes, through the trees, over the stream, and back. The wind blew through my hair as we flew through the garden, protecting it from evildoers and demons. I even caught a glimpse of Kei smiling once of twice. Or maybe it was just my imagination. Nevertheless, I let the breeze swirl around me, and we were heroes till the sun went down.
