Resolutions
Hello everyone, Natsuki Kruger here.
Today, I am going to talk about a friend of mine, Chikane Himemiya.
Chikane, was a old friend of mine just like Mai was, she was introduced to me by Shizuru during her annual family gathering, along with her lover, Himeko Kurusugawa, the two of them happily dating each other using their authorities as heads of their respective families. Their parents, or possibly their entire family, were all decimated in a horrible war waged between the Himemiya and the Kurusugawa, that war only ended when they become the heads of their respective families, their love for each other had already blossomed way before then.
But unfortunately, the recent Exorcist war (the war that was started the different religions - Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Islam and our Shinto, a really senseless war where exorcists are killing each other instead of evil spirits, just to prove that their respective religion is the strongest, exorcism wise. Samurais and Ninjas, Knights and Magicians, and even the evil spirits themselves were also hired by these religiousclowns, thus making it an epic battle totally out of control.), took Himeko's life away forever.
Chikane said that, Himeko died shielding her from a stray gunshot from an exorcist (Mai dealt with that murderer slightly later.).
It has been three years, Chikane is now staying with us because technically, the Himemiya and Kurusugawa clans don't exist anymore as Chikane is the only survivor left, with whatever left of the survivors in the previous war dying in the next one. All she had left were us.
Chikane was that kind of woman that like to put up a strong front in the face of others, a trait we both shared, but will usually break down when we are alone or just could not take it anymore, Shizuru once told me that, she is worried that Chikane might go insane if it keeps up like this.
Shizuru has a point there, losing her family, her clan, her siblings and even her true love, Chikane would have gone insane a long time ago, but she didn't, her mind remained stable, her heart remains strong, but to her, she is just a bit tired and needed a little rest from what happened, that's all.
Ironically, Chikane loved the moonlight more than anything, she was born under the moonlight; she gave her first kiss to Himeko under the moonlight; here comes the funny part – she buried her family and Himeko under a full moon as well. That explains the fact that Chikane often has tears flowing out of her eyes whenever she looks at a full moon.
What happened to Chikane and Himeko, somehow gave a motivation for me to protect Shizuru, I tried placing myself in Chikane's shoes, but I just could not. I once slapped myself for thinking about what will happen if Shizuru died like Himeko? I was like, "like hell that would happen!" at that moment.
Sometimes I envy Chikane for being that strong, I don't even want to think about what my life will be like without that tea sipping, expert tactician, half vampire and half werewolf (I bit her by the way) wife of mine, Shizuru.
As for Chikane, she left Japan on her own, stating that this place was simply too much for her to bear, filled with memories with her Himeko, both happy and sad, she decided to stay at somewhere quiet where nobody would ever think about seeking her out for her skills in battle, somewhere like Singapore, once referred by Shizuru as another Ikebukuro.
I will never know what will happen in the future, but at least I am content with what I have now.
My love for Shizuru is stronger than ever, and nothing will end it (I might consider ending it though, if Shizuru pokes me in the ass or the pussy with that spring onion of hers again…).
That's all folks!
