Chapter 1:
"John I told you we should have taken the tunnel!" Sherlock hated having to wait in traffic, Sherlock hated to wait full stop.
"For Christ's sake Sherlock why are you always such a child!" John was seething as it had taken Sherlock an hour to get dressed this morning. They could have avoided this traffic if he'd had hurried up but no he had to take an hour to decide what to put on. You should have seen John's face when Sherlock emerged from his room wearing the same thing he always wore. Sherlock took great delight in these games he played with John.
"I am not a child, children run from there problems. I do not run from mine!" Sherlock took of his seatbelt and reclined his chair in anticipation of the time they would spend waiting.
"Excuse me? Did you just say you don't run from your problems? Sherlock do you not recall when you faked your own death? Because Jim Moriarty lead a few people to believe you were a fake." John had become increasingly exhausted with Sherlock's behavior ever since he showed up on the front step of 221B almost 4 months ago. Sherlock had told John that he faked his own death because people believed him to be a fake and thought John would be better off. Sherlock was of course wrong because John hadn't been eating, sleeping or talking ever since the fall. When Sherlock got back he was distant, more so then ever before and John often lay awake at night thinking about the cause for it.
"You have no idea what you're talking about!" Sherlock had begun opening his door but John grabbed him by the coat before he could flee.
"Please enlighten me then" John looked at Sherlock, pleading with his best friend to open up, let someone in. When Sherlock made no move to speak John began again "Please Sherlock, I'm your best bloody friend"
"Don't you think I know that! I do! I know to well and so did Moriarty…" Sherlock became very, very still when he realized he'd said too much. He turned his head slowly to look at John.
