Voices That Go Unheard

BY SMYGO4EVA

Underground below the subway was usually a place no one would go to, let alone go there at all. In fact, no one knew that the subway even had an underground. It was the dead of night when only Hino Rei traveled underneath the subway. Meioh Setsuna called her to tell her something she needed to know.

Rei ambled into the dark center of the subway, underneath the city, where she looked right and left, analyzing the area. Setsuna-san should be here any minute now. She told me to meet here below the city.

"I see; you kept your word, Ms. Hino." A silky voice rang in her ears. She turned around to see the esoteric witch herself, clad in her usual provocative yet stunning black attire.

"Setsuna-san…what is the problem?" Rei asked.

The Guardian's stoic expression didn't waver. "I came here to tell you something…something that you may not have predicted in your wildest dreams."

"Like what? Is it bad?" A hint of concern unknowingly enveloped Rei's voice.

"No." Setsuna blinked only once, the shutters above her mauve orbs covering them for merely a millisecond.

"But it is that of a union of those who had formerly despised each other with all their beings. Now, two parts of the four pieces have been connected, bonding with one another in heated desire and ardor. As the ordeal grows stronger, nothing for them will ever be the same. Death, devotion, sacrifice, and love are foretold in the future ---- the connection of the other two pieces is dire." The sorceress concluded her revelation, leaving the girl across from her befuddled, confused and baffled.

"Wh-who are the first two pieces?" She paused, trying to think things over.

Then it hit her like a wet towel.

"Do you mean…Endymion and Serenity? Did they…?"

Setsuna nodded, internally pleased with the intellect Rei had. "Yes. I don't know why, but the future is at hand right now." She turned on one of her high heels, walking away slowly. She stopped, only to glance at the girl.

"Thank you for listening." With that, Setsuna sauntered away, at least some guilt steering away already from her already conflicted mind.

I just hope everything will turn out well.
