Hello! This is a poem I wrote inspired by Alexander the Great. Alexander has been my role model since I was a little girl. He always inspired me and made me admire him for who he was. So after watching the movie I felt so proud that I wrote this poem to show how I feel about him. I may be Greek but everyone that loves and admire Alexander can relate to the below poem. The Light of Youth
Eagle fly and touch the sky,
like Alexander did years ago.
Sun shine our miserable days,
as our great king did with his greatness.
Earth nurture our souls,
like the Macedonian does for centuries.
Wind whisper again his name,
so that I can be reborn by its power.
For I have never heard of someone
more exceptional than him.
I've never dreamed of another man
that followed his heart further
than Alexander did.
And when the night falls,
And everyone sleeps peacefully,
I feel his presence like a flame,
conquering my body till the dawn.
As his blood flows through my veins,
I will continue eternally to chant of his deeds.
I will praise his glory and let it guide me
because I was born of Alexander's last breath.
