It was the longest, most awkward silence that Sameshima had ever had to endure. He tugged at the collar of his jacket, coughing quietly and struggling to return some moisture to his dry throat. He heard the sound of a finger tapping irritably against a bicep within folded arms, radiating an air that was not at all amused.

Sameshima, currently, was just hoping he'd survive to see tomorrow.

"Mr. Sameshima."

His heart leapt violently.

"Y-yes, Mr. Kaiba?"

Kaiba's eyes narrowed dangerously as he glared down into the pit.

"Perhaps you'd like to tell me," he said, "why there's a crater where my academy should be."
