A Simple Question
Lying besides him, my perfect being, my perfect boyfriend, I realize just how lucky I am. Me, an ordinary girl of ordinary looks, am lying besides Edward, my Adonis, in a secluded place only we know of. To me, it felt like the Garden of Eden itself.
He lies there, still, like a statue, but no statue could shimmer as beautifully as him. His skin, like a million diamonds when the sun rests upon it, reflects off of him onto my own skin. Soon, my skin will sparkle just like his, as soon as I'm bitten. When I become a vampire as well, but that must wait. Currently, something much much simple is occupying my mind.
"Edward." I ask, batting my eye seductively at the godly vampire.
"Yes Bella." He answers, the air coming from his mouth even more fragrant than axe body spray.
"Can you get sunburn?" At the question he looks at me as if staring at a very dear child and then laughs. Normally I'd get angry, but his laugh, so deep and sexy is greater than the voices of angels. No anger could be caused by that laugh.
"Bella, Bella." He shakes his head, laughing some more and gives me his lopsided grin. "Have you ever heard of a vampire getting sunburn?"
I stay silent for a while. Truthfully, yes I have heard of vampires getting sunburn, but those were the creatures of myth. This sparkling perfection before me was the truth and never could I imagine his face being blemished with something as trivial as sunburn. I shook my head, showing my reply was no.
He smiles at me again and brings me closer into a cold embrace, kissing me over and over. I inhale his scent and realize my question was stupid. There's no way my Adonis could get sunburn.
Stepping into my bedroom, I couldn't help but chuckle once more at Bella's question. She had asked me if I could get sunburn. What an absurd thought and yet, it had been so adorable coming from her lips.
Sunburn. That was a thought and truthfully, I've never stayed in the sun long enough to receive one of the red markings, not that I could receive one. Today, however, would have left a normal beings looking like a crab.
Walking in front of the mirror, I couldn't help but allow my curiosity to overcome my rational thinking. What I saw shocked me. My entire face was sparkling, yet the sun had sunk long ago.
I, Edward Cullen, undead soulless monster, gorgeous sparkling vampire, handsomest man alive, had gotten vampire sunburn. Sunburn.
At that time, if you had happened to be walking past the Cullen house, you would have seen a youth, who appeared to have been tragically involved with a freak glitter accident, standing awkwardly around the rest of the Cullen Clan, all of them laughing except the ginger.
