Cyborg enjoyed working on the car, more so than riding it, it remained as one of the few tasks in life capable of stimulating his human senses. With the Titans rarely coming down to the garage, Cyborg got to luxuriate in the engine's revs, the smell of the oil, and everything else that he once had when he was whole. Resting on the car creeper beneath the car, soft footsteps came echoing down the stairs. Starfire almost never come down here, much less by walking; Beast Boy was not the kind of a guy to walk down the stairs quietly, unless for a prank, but he should have learnt his lesson by now; so that made the visitor either Robin, for his bike, or Raven.
Still buried under the vehicle, he extended out one hand, and called out to Raven by name to have a spanner handed over to him. Raven was no stranger to his lair, and passed the right tool for him.
"How did you know it's me?" she asked.
"My guts," he answered, paused for a while for the ironic of it, considering he had none of those as well. "So, what's up?"
A redundant question, whenever she's down here alone, she's here to talk. Neither knew how it started, but she always came to him if an advice was needed. Opening the car door, Raven sat with the legs hanging out, and explained to him the situation. "I went to find Terra at her school."
"Didn't Beast Boy say that he doesn't want anyone to bother her?" Cyborg questioned with a tone of surprise in his voice.
"I just want to make sure that she's she. And she is. I entered her mind."
Cyborg pulled himself out from under the car, but hastily wheeled back under after seeing how awfully close his face was to her bare legs. "You shouldn't have done that, did you doubt Beast Boy's judgement?"
"I just don't want Beast Boy to be all upset over the wrong girl. I talked to Terra, and asked her to come back. She continued her masquerade even after I told her that I read her mind, and that she still loves him."
Under the car, Cyborg could not see much, but her constant shuffling of feet pretty much told him everything. "She betrayed him, she can't forgive herself for what she did, she is afraid of what Beast Boy would think of her."
"But, Beast Boy isn't that kind of guy, she knows that. Why is she so stubborn and ignorant towards her feeling for Beast Boy?"
Letting out an unconscious sigh, he said, "The same can be said for you, Raven."
Raven froze, and a moment after, she arched over and levelled her sight to his, "What do you mean?"
Cyborg continued his act in dismantling something, though he pretty much stopped what he was doing the moment she came down here. Taking a brief look at Raven, he continued, "You like him, Rae. You're the first to notice his depression, and the only who wanted Terra to come back to him, regardless of the agony she's bearing. You just want him to be happy."
The girl batted her eyes, disbelieving what was told to her. Slowly returning to the seating position, she remained seated, long enough for Cyborg to start getting worried. Eventually Raven stood up to leave, saying only, "You don't know me."
"You know it's true. Go mediate over it, Rae."
Once again, she paused in her steps, only to resume in quick steps up the stairs while chanting.
By the time he loosened his grip on the spanner, he wondered how much time had passed since she left. He closed his eyes, hoping to shut out thoughts of Raven, but nothing was easy; to mute his senses, to pretend to be content with just being able to see her smile and for her to be happy. He remained under the car, solemnly lamenting to himself, "Way to go, Vic."
