Disclaimer: I do not own Escaflowne or Dilandau…sniff…But, at least the story is mine.

It's a short story about Dilandau who finds Celena in his mind when he's alone…

                                                          Hidden under thoughts

Where's my bottle? I thought as entering my quarters. Aaah!! There it is. I threw myself in a chair and took a bottle. The only thing that never lets you down! Wine always burns through your throat with same eagerness and devotion, almost like fire itself. I poured myself a glass of bloody liquid tracking it with my eyes as it slid over the bottle-glass in my cup. As it approached my lips I could see its surface slowly wrapping in perfectly shaped circles that stole the reflection of my eyes and imprisoned her within. Good. You'll never get out. Never. She just stood there, as always. Never talked. I saw her first when that bastard cut my godlike cheek. It's your fault, bitch!!! My glass met the wall and exploded in millions of pieces. It's all your fault… My eyes suddenly went purple, only to be instantly replaced by the bloody red I adored. But, I'll get my revenge. There's no weapon that'll protect you then, Van. I can feel my katana sliding deeply into your flesh, softly aparting your skin. Muahahahaha!!!!!!!! It was all in front of my eyes, unchanged for all the times it happened. My hand was stroking the long scar he gave me, finger-tips marking the softer skin in the middle. I did that subconsciously. Van, Vaaaan!!! You coward, hiding behind a fortune-teller!

Then , there was she. The one in my mind. The one that wouldn't get out of my head when I was alone. Fortunately, that was rare. Maybe I don't want to let you out. Hmmm…I'm your torturer and I'll keep you there as long as I please. You can beg if you want. I said to her. No word, not even a sign she heard me. Come on, beg! Drop on your knees and beg me to let you out!! She was still. The bottle flew through the air and crushed against the wall. Move!!! Do something!!! You're driving me crazy!!!! I closed my eyes thinking she would go away, but she was still there, stearing at me. STOP IT!!!!!! STOP WATCHING ME!!!!!! I rose up from my seat with my hands in my hair, shaking my head. Don't, don't…. I don't want to watch it….it's not true…She was always doing it. Showing me pictures of some people I never saw. They were all around! NO MORE!!! DON'T PLAY WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!! I forced myself to think about fire. I was in my Alseides throwing beautiful, crimson flames over towns. She embraced her knees and covered her head with her arms. Oh, so you don't like that. Do you?! Wait until you hear this. I called back in my memory screams of those being burned alive. Their maniacal screams loosing under my own. The ones I tortured myself. Slowly burning their flesh until they spoke and than sliding my dagger under their throat… My katana cutting people's skin, liberating blood hidden under it. All fights I ever battled, and… won…Invincible… Unstoppable…Smirk flew over my face. Everything wrapped in crimson…Blood, fire and wine… I saw tears sliding down her cheeks. She started shaking and curving under my attack unable to respond. I was strangling every attempt of resistance. She's in me and she belongs to me, so she WILL obey or be annihilated. The only way to make me stop is to talk! She dropped on her knees and begged, her fragile form streaching in attempts to reach me.. That won't do! I said, talk! NO MORE!!!!! She finally yawped. So you do have a thongue after all? Who the hell are you? I…I am…She started fading. No, not now! Tell me who are you?!! Come back, where have you gone!? It's not morning yet! I reached out to grab her, but my hand passed through her shilouette…You. The room became dark as the night came slowly, leaving me alone in my quarters, joined only by a candle whose flame kept dancing in front of my eyes, red as a horror that fullfilled me as I finally acknowledged she was…me.
