HELLO! THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT ROOKIE BLUE, SO I'M NOT SURE HOW GOOD IT'S GOING TO BE. ANYWAY, HERE GOES NOTHING:

DON'T OWN IT

Sam couldn't believe it. The news was, of course, horrible, but also held new opportunities, assuming Callaghan didn't make it. He didn't want anyone to die, but wanted to be with Andy. He just knew that guy wasn't right for her. Maybe this was Fate talking. He returned with his and Andy's coffees, not really sure what to say. He hadn't really seen her this beat up, even after she'd killed someone. All of her friends were there, offering support. He figured that maybe he should go and leave her with them; they might know how to comfort her better than he. Sam shrugged the idea away. No, he wanted to be here with Andy.

Just then, a nurse -or doctor, Sam couldn't tell which- walked in. Everyone instantly leaped up, eager for the news.

"We got all of the bullets out, but he lost quite a lot of blood. The next 48 hours are crucial." The medical professional said. (That was what Sam decided to call her).

"Can we see him?" Andy asked, her voice shaking. Only then did Sam feel all his happiness about the situation go away. He now realized what this man meant to Andy.

"The ICU is restricted to family only."

"I'm his fiancée. I am family." Andy replied. It seemed that she just figured out how close she was to Callaghan, how much he meant to her.

"Alright, follow me." He watched as Andy disappeared down the hall.

So now here Sam was, laying in bed, feeling like crap. How could he have wished someone who meant so much to her dead? It didn't matter now. In 48 hours, he'd find out if Callaghan was going to live or die. If he died, Sam would feel horribly guilty. It's different when you just wish someone was dead, like an ex-girlfriend, versus someone who could possibly die at any moment. And he knew that if Andy ever wanted to get together, he would have to say no. Because he didn't think he could deal with dating her after he wished the man she loved dead.

SO, HOW WAS IT?
