Darkness Unveiled

Prologue: The Eve of Life

The wind flowing across her face, the feeling of the gusts on her body, this was true freedom, and this is what she was going to miss; Tenebra thought to herself. This would be the last time she could do this before her first year at Hogwarts as she was leaving the estate. She thought that now would be an appropriate time to go back into her home. "I'm going to miss the cliffs and the ocean" said Tenebra as her mother, Amelia approached her. "You'll be back before you know it" said Amelia. "I hope so", said reluctantly by Tenebra. "Come on this'll be exiting for you, you'll finally get your wand", said quite gleefully by Amelia. Tenebra whispered "Something you have been neglecting to do for a while". Her mother gave her a look she knew well; it was time to stop grimacing and be happy. Amelia yelled a little too loudly for Tenebra's ears "Blasius". Tenebra never quite understood why her mother, an extroverted and caring woman married her father, who like always was in a perpetual state of grimacing. "Yes Amelia I'm coming" said weakly by Blasius. Tenebra never quite understood either of them, although she was closer to her mother. Her mother quietly whispered in her ear "He seemed much happier on Umbra's first day at Diagon Alley". Tenebra wasn't upset at it; her father always had a preference for her older sister, Umbra. She was glad she at least had her mother. Tenebra under a false mood of glee said "I'm ready". She was at the very least, a little excited at the prospect of going to Hogwarts; they apparated to Diagon Alley of course.

She was only here once before, which was when Umbra first got her first-year requirements. Tenebra was a little perplexed at everything, but she knew what she needed. First was the wand, the pinnacle of the wizard or witch. She began to approach Ollivander's Wand Shop with her mother while her father went to Gringotts to collect 50 galleons for the requirements for first-years. She passed another student who she recognized as Harry Potter: The Boy Who Lived. Would she not have been busy herself she probably would have asked him something about what happened. She walked into Ollivander's and not too soon after that found a wand; it was an ebony wand with a dragon heartstring core and a 12.75 inch length. When she found it she knew it was hers, but not before 12 other tries. After she left she got fitted for her uniform, and then got the rest of the needed requirements for first years. It was almost time to get on the Hogwarts express, and she got there with 5 minutes to spare. After a brief goodbye from her mother and an imperious glance from Umbra; she got on the train. Her heart was racing like it was going to burst any moment. Eventually she found her sister who was sitting with some Slytherins like her, one she recognized as Draco Malfoy whose father worked with hers, and he had an aura of arrogance and self-righteousness about him, and something else; she decided to sit alone in the compartment across. She was always rejected by her sister, by now she got used to it. She looked out the window and thought to herself "Maybe it won't be that bad".
