DISCLAIMER: I don't own Jak and Daxter.

Jak stared up at the cloudy blue sky as he lay on the grass. Daxter rambled on and on about various things, some of which he had no idea what he was talking about.

"Jak? Jak?! Are you listening?" Daxter grumbled as he waved his furry little arms about.

Jak jerked upright, "Uh, yeah, Dax. What'd you say again?"

Daxter huffed, "I said you need to name the little rug rat after yours truly. I mean, you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Orange Lightning," he stopped to flex what little muscle he had. "I was thinking something along the lines of Daxter Augustus II, or Daxter..." Jak never heard the rest because his thoughts drifted back to Keira. The day she told him he was going to be a father, he picked her up and whirled her around. His eyes had never shone so brightly before, at least, not under normal circumstances.

Jak was brought out of his thoughts again when he heard a large crashing noise come from inside the house. A horrified look overcame his face, and he jolted from his spot and burst through the front door of the hut. "Keira?! Are you alright?" he panicked. There was nothing unusual going on in the small hut, but sometimes he worried that a group of Lurkers were going to ambush the place even though they hadn't been active for a couple years. He rushed into Keira's shop where he found her on the ground picking up some tools.

"I'm fine, I'm fine. I was just trying to get my toolbox off the shelf when it fell," she said with a bright smile. "You really do worry too much, Jak."

Jak began to pick up the assortment of wrenches and ratchets on the floor. Keira tried to help, but he placed his hand on hers to stop her. "Relax, I'll pick it up," he said. "You shouldn't even be working." He put the toolbox back on the bench and helped her up.

Jak wrapped his arms around her from behind and buried his face in her neck. He ran his hands over the small baby bump on her stomach. "Don't scare me like that again," he said with a sigh of relief.

Keira turned around to face him and leaned her forehead on his so that their noses touched. Her lips barely grazed his as she spoke. "I love you," she said as she ran her hand through his hair.

"I love you, too." Jak held her close and closed his eyes. He began a slow motion on her motion on her lips, expressing more passion with each kiss. Keira let out a small sigh of satisfaction as she ran her other hand up and down his chest.

"Oh, please! Get a room, would ya?" Daxter interrupted. "Oh, I almost forgot--you did." The ottsel snickered to himself.

Keira's face flushed a bright red, and she glared intensely at Daxter. When she got her hands on him, well, let's just say that he wouldn't be the same Orange Lightning. "DAXTER!!!" she yelled. Dax turned tail and ran out the door before she could get her hands on him. Jak chuckled as he watched his girlfriend chase his best friend out the door and to the middle of Sandover Village. He had a feeling that Daxter would be needing a suit of armor to protect himself from Keira for the next five or six months.

You've probably noticed by now that this fic is a lot of AU. It's meant to be set in Sandover Village a few years after the end of TPL, as if they'd never gone through the rift gate. Jak and Keira should be somewhere around 20 or 21. Dedicated to Apollo Night for giving me the oneshot prompt!

Reviews much appreciated,
