A/N: This was written in about ten minutes, after finishing a rather depressing poem by one of my friends. I couldn't help but think of our little paranormal investigator and our favorite alien. This could actually be read from either point of view, but I had Dib in mind while writing this. Constructive Criticism only please. Thank you.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Invader Zim or the Poem this was based off.
This isn't love.
He knows it isn't.
It isn't fondness,
or like,
or even mild tolerance.
But it hurts.
He doesn't mind so much because,
It is obsession,
possession,
the desperation to have the other.
He will never promise to stay.
But he will never leave.
Because they are at an impasse.
He won't bow down,
surrender,
give up.
But he has no one.
And so he will cling to a constant.
The only one still there.
The one that believed.
There is no one else,
no one that matters,
none that care.
He needs someone that cares.
But he doesn't care,
doesn't love,
doesn't like.
And he knows that.
In his eyes though,
there is that glint,
that makes him hope.
Because, even though
he knows there isn't love,
there is a chance,
that one day,
there might be.
And that's worth the pain and waiting.
A/N 2: Probably sucked, but I like it. If you guys want, I'll post the poem that inspired this little thing. It could be read as something from an angsty ZADR. Review please!
