Hollyoaks: The Morning After the Night Before...

The next day, John Paul and Ste were at Hollyoaks High, and had just found out from the headmaster, Mr Black, that John Paul had got his job back as a teacher again, thanks to a petition that was signed by the vast majority of students. Ste looked happily at John Paul as they entered the classroom. The headmaster got everyone to cheer for John Paul, and all the students seemed to be happy he was there.

Except for one. Amongst the smiles and cheers, John Paul spotted a frown. It was a familiar frown, and he recognized the student instantly. Oh no, he thought, frozen with fear. His heart sank as he realized that Theresa was right - the boy was a student. Now John Paul would get into so much trouble for kissing a student. You know John Paul, you really MUST stop kissing the students in the school. You're going to run out fairly soon, John Paul heard Finn's sinister and mocking tone in his head.

The pupil stared back at John Paul and recognized him, too. They both looked at each other anxiously. Mr Black then left the classroom with John Paul and Ste. "You start tomorrow," Mr Black said to John Paul as he pulled him to one side. John Paul nodded and gulped. "OK, thank you so much, sir," he said. His hands felt clammy from the nerves of getting the job back, and the pressure that he knew that pupil intimately.

Mr Black nodded. "See you then," he said, before nodding at Ste before walking away. As soon as he was gone, Ste smiled and kissed his husband deeply. "I'm so proud of you," he told him. John Paul smiled back uncomfortably. "Thanks," he said, and they kissed again before hugging. "You're such an inspiration to me, you know," Ste said. John Paul managed a smile. "You're the strong one. The way you keep going in your condition, like nothing's wrong is... amazing," John Paul told him. Ste grinned. "Let's just say we both inspire each other," he said. They nodded at one another before walking down the corridor. John Paul took one last look at the classroom door where the pupil was, and sighed. What will he tell Theresa? he thought. What will I say to the boy?

"Hey, Earth to John Paul. Are you receiving me, over?" Ste asked him with a grin, jolting John Paul out of his panicked thoughts. "Mmm? Sorry, did you say something?" he asked. Ste grinned. "I said, did you want to stop by at the coffee shop for a coffee?" he asked. John Paul shrugged. "Sure," he said with a weak smile. "Why not?"
