The year is 2558.
The UNSC transport ship Spectre, carrying equipment and supplies for the Spartan Program, is pulled into a sub-space dimensional vortex, and disappears from their existence.
In 2001, a large meteor was seen flying over the small town of Harmony, and disappeared from view. A group of young friends in kindergarten saw this and made a pact to follow that star.
The year in 2014, the group of friends are in their final year of high school, moving on towards 6th form. One friend, Zoe believes that whilst flying overhead in her uncles helicopter, she saw something sticking out of a cliff, and believes it to be the meteor they all saw. Using the pact, she coaxes her friends into going. So on a day off from school, girls Zoe, Sarah and Kira, and boys Alex, Dean and Zack go off and following the cliffs find a cave. After trekking through they come across the Spectre, deeply embedded in the rocks.
Whilst exploring the ship, Sarah accidentally reenergises the computer, and a self-preservation programme activates. The ship identifies Alex as the natural leader, steals him and forces him into the medibay where he is forced to undergo Spartan Augmentation whilst the others watch in horror from behind a translucent screen. After the process in complete, a taller, more muscled and toned and better looking Alex emerges, where he is automatically outfitted with Spartan Armour, Red Venator Raptor style with some alterations.
Alex is forced to keep this a secret whilst he learns to understand and control his new strength and abilities, whilst at the same time, Sarah's rival Cassidy tries to uncover the truth. Alex is soon forced to use his new armour to save Kira from a crazy stalker, but is unintentionally caught in a glimpse on CCTV footage.
While around the same time, a new neighbour to Alex named Melissa arrives, though she is really a government operative trying to find out what's really happening.
