In Memory of Alice Liddell James
poem by MadHatterGrl
Short black fur with brown spots around her mouth, paws, and chest.
Her mother was a chiwawa and her father was a wienie dog.
My friend had a lot dogs, but to me she was the best.
From the day you where born you chose me.
With a little sister and big brother you where in the middle,
But you where the most adventuress, curious, and meddlesome of the three.
You where small and very little,
And shy, but you did everything so cutely.
On a rainy morning I took you home,
away from my friend and her family to live with my dad and me.
After washing and drying you, I put you in my room and let you roam.
You clung to me and when I came home she was filled with glee.
As you got older you learned how to bark,
though you rarely used it, unless I wouldn't let you on the bed.
She was always within sight, even when it was dark,
Though when I dance in my room she'd hide in my bedspread.
One day when I got home and put my stuff down,
I put Alice outside to eat and play like normal.
After a wile, I couldn't find her so I started having a meltdown.
Then I saw her, lying on the ground beside the road, and I hoped it wasn't dreadful.
But it was, she was dead, her face was smashed in and seeing it made me breakdown
All I could do was cry and wounder who could do something so terrible.
I kept her tag in a special little piano that was a music box.
I've excepted the fact that I was probably meant to be alone,
I will most likely not get another pet, since every time I do, death knocks.
In loving memory of Alice Liddell James,
I'll never forget you.
Sorry if it's bad, this is my first poem. My dad said that when someone dies artist paint a picture of them and singers write songs, so I thought I'd write a poem. Put in "Alice in Wonderland" because that's where I got her name. Go to photobucket and look up Alice Liddell James to find a picture of her.
