Lightweight

"Okay I give you both permission to slap me, if I ever get like this over a boy," the words she had said to Mara and Joy echoed in her mind now more than ever. She had gotten like that over a boy. He wasn't just any boy though, he was Eddie. He meant so much to her. She let him and he broke down her walls. Her mind kept racing to everything she felt and what she thought would be the best for everyone.

She finally snapped herself out of her thoughts and made her way down the stairs. Of course KT was sitting at the head of the table with Eddie on one side of her Fabian on the other side. Next to Fabian were Willow and Alfie. Alfie trying to apologize for something he didn't remember. Fabian, Eddie, and KT were talking amongst themselves. She took the open seat next to Eddie.

"Eddie filled me in about how you guys really looked out for each other whilst I was away," Patricia emphasized.

"Yeah we made a good team," KT claimed. Maybe he really would be happier with KT. Maybe she needed to let him go. It was funny to think that she wanted nothing more than for him to happy. She'd let him go. If he wanted to be with KT it could be. It didn't matter how unhappy she'd make herself. She just wanted to put his happiness first.

"Well thank you for looking after him."

"Uh hmm yeah," KT nodded. Patricia didn't know what else to say, and thankfully she didn't have to. Victor entered the room to tell them about the fireworks. Then one by one they pushed their chairs from the table to bundle up and head outside for the firework show.

KT and Eddie were already in the hall having grabbed their warmer clothes. They didn't know she was watching as he wrapped an arm around KT. It was then that she fully made her decision. She'd let him go. His happiness was more important to her than her own. She was going to let him go. He could move on. She wouldn't stop him. She wouldn't hold him back.

It wasn't until Fabian had rejoined them that they left to go outside. KT and Eddie leading the foursome, with Fabian and herself dragging behind slightly. She lost Fabian as a walking buddy when Mara came racing out of the house. They walked behind her talking about math or whatever the two found fascinating.

They made it over to where everyone had gathered for fireworks. There was popcorn and hot chocolate, neither of the things interested Patricia so she found a nice deserted spot to stand by herself. Mara and Fabian went to get hot chocolate. Eddie had run off to get popcorn, and KT was talking to someone from their history class.

Patricia stood there deep in thought. Trying to find the words to say to Eddie. She was letting him go. She needed to know what to say. Her mind was racing and soon he had gotten his popcorn and was standing next to her. All that was left was to take a deep breathe and get it over with.

"Look I understand how it works and I get it. If you want to be with KT instead of me that's absolutely fine," She urged bravely. If he wanted to be with KT, then they had her blessing. His happiness was mattered to her, and if KT was what made him happy, then she could fake a smile and pretend she was happy for them

"Okay," he answered nodding his head weakly in approval.

"What," she spat.

"Your face," he teased.

"Eddie!"

"It's you I want to be with doofus. It always was, and always will be."

"Oh yeah," she questioned. Was it possible that he actually wanted to be with her? That she made him happy?

"Yeah."

"Well that depends."

"On what?"

"On weather you let me have your popcorn or not."

"No, no way. I stood in line for this."

"Weasel face."

"Yacker," he smirked. It was just like that moving in for the kiss. He began to lean in and their lips met.

"You're what makes me happy," he reassured so only she could hear as they split apart.
