A/N: Alright, I've moved away from Transformers for a little while to focus on this new series I have in mind. I've recently discovered that I have a crush on Zero, even though I used to think he was ugly, but he does deserve some love. This is the fic that's gonna start my new series, which I'm calling the Zero's Road to Redemption series. This is my first Tin Man fic ever posted, so be nice to me!

He was a monster, in his own way. It was sad to be honest, but it was, unfortunately, true. But yet, something so little, so innocent, saw what was left of him and brought it out. What was this one powerful force? It wasn't magic, but her name was Doris, and she was the new queen's daughter. Her father, Wyatt Cain, had left to find the Blood Moon Diamond, a stone used to protect loved ones from evil spirits.

Execution had been his original fate, but Doris, only five years old, demanded that he be set free, or did something to redeem himself. It took a little persuading, but eventually, DG spared Zero and told him the one way he could redeem himself: Protect Doris at all costs, be her father figure, her guardian, and her best friend. At first, it was almost like he was already dead, but Doris persisted on getting closer to him. Her persistence finally paid off.

Zero was living in the room across the hall from her, and Doris had a nightmare about the witch's spirit coming to possess her. She only knew one person to go to: Zero. Daddy was no longer around, he hadn't for almost two years. So the black haired little girl went to her guardian like she would've gone to her father. He was sleeping, so she tried to wake him.

"Zero" she poked him on the shoulder, "Zero, please wake up, I'm scared. I think the witch is coming for me".

Zero sat up, still drowsy. "What?" he managed.

"She's after me, Zero. You can keep her away, right?" Doris asked.

Despite the darkness, Doris's large blue eyes were noticeable. She looked as if on the verge on tears. Strangely enough, Zero felt the tug at his heart strings, and scooped her up, his arm around her front, as if to shield her from an attack.

"That thing isn't coming anywhere near you. I promise" he told her.

Zero loosened his grip and Doris buried her face into his shirt. All the while, Zero stroked back her hair as if to give her comfort. He didn't really know how to comfort, but it came naturally.

"Can I stay in here? I feel safer here" Doris asked.

Zero nodded. This girl…she was his only chance to redeem himself. He would protect her, give his life for her, no one but her. His loyalties were now here, and here was where they'd stay.

A/N: That was crap, I know, I apologize, but it's my first. I'll get better as I go along, I promise.
