11 months after Augustine's downfall, humans and conduits can finally live in peace. However, a new threat was coming up: ghouls. How the hell ghouls came into this? Find out and learn more.
The Not So Settled Dust
Back in the day when conduits and humans were at war, the DUP, led by Brooke Augustine, was created after the Empire City event that wiped out thousands and gave hundreds of unsuspected people with inconceivable powers about a decade ago. New Marais had a similar experience when the Beast was heading towards it to catch Cole MacGrath. In the end, the Beast was not only gone, so was Cole and the rest of its dark history. Seattle also had its moment to when Delsin Rowe, Abigail "Fetch" Walker, and Eugene Sims took down Augustine for her meticulously plan to extend her power over the fear-instilled Seattleites and other Americans. Fortunately, her plans were foiled and peace has been settled. It was for the first time that humans and conduits could genuinely live together as one, ending the bloodshed and genocide all over the world. It has been 11 months since Augustine's downfall and not one conflict involved both humans and conduits alike. Maybe.
It was October at the crack of dawn, about 6 o clock, and thick fog slowly rolled into downtown Seattle from Elliot Bay. The Alaskan Way Viaduct became the line where the fog stopped rolling in. After a few minutes, the fog dissipated and forest breeze mixed with the salty air rushed into downtown. Some diners and coffeehouses were opening up and foghorns can be heard from Elliott Bay, signaling a regular morning rush hour. Cars began to cause rush hour traffic along the Interstate 5 and ferries started to load and dock people in Seattle. Finally, a normal day in Seattle began. Nothing was unusual except that it celebrated its festival yesterday, Huduit.
The Human Conduit, a portmanteau for human and conduit, was a spectacular festival for conduits and humans living together, unified from fear. There were showoffs, concerts, free food, and the most important of all, peace. Peace was in their time and nothing cannot stop them now. But little did these revelers know that something ferocious is coming into town, and it's not welcome. There were two people on Queen Anne's Kerry Park, looking at the Space Needle and downtown. Fireworks were exploding and screams of joy can be heard from the background. One guy wore a green BDU style Superdry jacket, smoking a cigarette. A high school senior with black hair and a brown yeti wooden mask with a devilish frown covered his face; another was a senior and she was dressed in white dress smoking with him. Her black piranha mask was strikingly fearsome: the red eyes, the ripped metal shard mouth, and the smooth scaly texture. She pulled a cigarette and lighted her own. "Should we really start here? I mean, there are better places to start at, like Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, or whatever," said the green guy.
"Well, Arnold. The commission said Seattle was final, but they mentioned Buenos Aires was also another good ground." Her phone received a text, it said, "Forget Seattle, try Buenos Aires; already unstable." "Arnold, you got lucky. Buenos Aires it is. No more Project Seattle," said the white dressed woman.
"Really, Eliza? Well then…" Arnold said and looked towards Seattle. "Argentina, don't cry for me. "
"Is that from Evita? *sigh You gotta stop referencing shows or movies or something. It's getting annoying."
"Piss off." Said Arnold. The two finished their smoking break and head back to their car, a black 1984 Mercury Capri. The two rode off into the night never coming back.
