Disclaimer: If I owned them, Dean would probably be making out and in a steady relationship with 2 males. So no, I don't own them.
Prompt: Ruby 2.0/Dean, Dean asks Ruby to the prom.

It'd all started with scathing remarks and 'Sam's better than you's and hate-want-don't-ugh's from both sides, and a little bit of Ruby carrying on around his little brother and leaning just a little too close to him at lunch time before Dean snapped.

He tells himself that he was a gentleman, went over and showed her exactly how much he deserved to court her because the only thing Sam was looking for was exactly how far down her top went- cause, you know, that's what teenagers do. But really, he kinda maybe had followed her as she lined up for food, spun her around and given her one of the hottest and most freakin' awkward kisses he'd ever given before. It was a little clichéd, a little want-have-now with no other thought, but after he'd done it, he kinda realised that every 'I hate you,' and 'I like _ so much more than you' really meant 'I want to shove you up against the lockers and kiss the freakin' life out of you but I'm too much of a scared asshole to say it.'

Really, when the signs that notified 'School Prom' went up, and they went back to 'Dick.' 'Jerk.' 'Never really liked you anyway.' And make out sessions filled with bruised lips and silent 'Just ask me asshole's, Dean knew it was just a matter of time before he pulled out the Roses and whispered the words 'Come to prom with me?' against her lips.

So, when he found himself knocking awkwardly at her front door with his uniform untucked and the most 'I am a badass' look on his face to counter the flowers in his hands, even though he knew that Ruby'd see right through it, he wasn't quite surprised. What did surprise him though, is the sweet 'I love you, moron,' which followed the customary squeal and 'Yes!'.

And it might ruin his image, but the words made him smile so hard that he was willing to put up with being called an freakin' girl all week, as long as it came from her.
