There they were. Together. Finally.
Through the tides of war, in moments of doubt and after thick and thin they sat together and ruled the world in peace and harmony. After a century of war it was like the entire world took a breather and gelled together, bonded not by the elements that they bend but by the ground that they walked on, by the rights that they possessed, by the energy that flowed from one element to the next, by friendship and equality and peace and loyalty.
This world was very different from the world he grew up in. Since day one he struggled and fought and nothing seemed to go his way, from the family separation to the start of the war everything he had was taken away from him in the blink of an eye. And he didn't know how he would fix it until she was by his side. Inside he writhed with turmoil unless she was by his side, making him stronger, willing him to fight harder, giving him someone to fight for, someone to lose everything for.
She. She made everything right. With her confidant posture and demanding attitude he found that she had burrowed a soft spot in his heart and nested there. Now the mention of her name sent him into a flash of panic; a new lover. One who sits there and makes him stronger. One with whom he is in perfect harmony. The push to his pull, the Yin to his Yang. Before she glided into his life his purpose was less clear, but with her love there was a clarity to his entire world, and he found a friend to journey with him to the end of the world and back.
Energy. A source to draw from for a powerful bender. A force that connected the entire world together. The force that causes his heart to beat faster and his palms to sweat when she's in danger, yet the force that tells him that she's going to be alright, because she's the strongest woman in the world, and she's capable of so much, and she's been through so much. And that fact that she chose to love him still floats through his mind because she's a trophy, a goddess, a beauty, a fighter, a lover, and his perfect match.
Because together, they could rule the world with nothing but their own will and a world of determination. If there's anything the world needs, it's them.
Them. Together they could rule the world. Together.
They.
