We all have our dreamlands. Of course we all take our own journeys to our dreamlands. Some filled with happiness and color; some dark and mysterious, but they all have one thing in common: they're safe. At least, for most of us. Form some; they're a form of torture. Take Jade West's for example. Everyone thinks in her dreamland, she'd be a dictator or an evil queen. The truth is she was a prisoner.
Every fear, every bad thing that's ever happened, every dark truth live in her dreamland. Every time she closes her eyes it's a new nightmare. Beck leaves her for Tori; her dad admits her hate for her, the dolphin. She hopes her anger at everything will be enough to release her from the prison that is her mind.
The thing that keeps her strapped to reality is Beck. Now, that anchor's gone. Her dreams slowly seep into her reality. Beck left her already, her father grows away farther away from her every day. What is there left? Hope? That left her years ago. Faith? In what? Trust? Who was there left?
On the inside she deteriorates more every day. Sinjin finally gets to her.
"Leave me alone!"
The last three words she had spoken. She never talks anymore. She buries herself in books and her writing. She sits alone and doesn't let anyone near her. No one can break through to her, for she's stuck between reality and her dreamland. After a while it would become a blur to you too.
…
All our realities have our flaws. Mean girls, bullies, homework and family life. Some have more flaws than others. Take Beck Oliver's for example. Everyone envisioned his reality to be perfect. Loving family, no more scary girlfriend to weigh him down. He was free. The truth is he was a prisoner
His reality is where all his true fears live; the over controlling family and falling out of love. . He hopes his outer shell will be enough to release him from the prison that is his reality.
The thing that kept him in his dreamland was Jade. Now that anchor's gone. His reality slowly takes over his dreamland. One of those had already existed. Why do you think he had the RV.? His second fear had come true when he broke up with Jade. Something he silently promised he'd never do. What did he have left? Hope? For what? Faith? In what? Trust? Who was there left?
On the inside he deteriorates more every day. He masks it. Pretends he's ok. People believe it, but the careful observer will see his brown eyes have lost the same shine and sparkle. No one can fix this, for he's stuck between dreamland and reality. After a while it would become a blur to you too.
…...
No one can save them from themselves, except each other. They cleared the blur between dreamland and reality. They we're too blinded by their own fears to see this for themselves, so a dream would have to be a breakthrough.
She dreamt a dream, like no other. She dreamt of Beck saving her, saving her from her dreamland and bringing her back to the reality she loved so much.
He dreamt a dream, like no other. He dreamt of her saving him, saving him from his reality and bringing him back to the dreamland he loved so much.
…..
They say dreams can change a person as much as an actual event. What they don't realize is how much of a change it can make.
The girl, who never spoke, spoke again.
"I'm sorry."
The boy who hid his feelings had a breakdown.
"I'm the one who's sorry."
The truth is they'll never be the same. They'll always have that blur between reality and dreamland, but they'll be there to clear the line.
No one can save them from themselves except each other. After you've been with your soul mate you would be this way too.
