Harry, Ron and Hermione were walking along the 5th floor corridor on, a rainy Monday morning; on their way to their first lesson of the day double Transfiguration.
'' Oh damn I've forgotten to do the homework, I was so busy last night finishing of my moonstone essay for Professor Snape.'' said Harry in worried tones.
'' Honestly you shouldn't leave your homework until the last possible moment, were in our O.W.L year now and... '' Said Hermione snappily but the rest of her sentence was left unfinished as Ron jumped into the conversation after daydreaming about her. How she wore her glasses, how she walked with purpose.
'' Hermione, give it a rest.'' Ron interrupted sounding most annoyed.
Before Hermione could open her mouth to answer back and start one of their familiar arguments that caused Harry to use all his self-control not to tell them too shut up, they were always arguing after all, they had reached the familiar oak door that led them into their Transfiguration classroom.
They entered taking their usual seats at the back of the classroom.
'' Take out your wand's and your Standard book of spells grade 5 please. '' commanded Professor Mcgonagall
As the lesson began and Harry and Hermione sat listening intently, well in the case of Hermione, Ron entered his usual daydream that took place every Transfiguration lesson in that very same chair. He was back in the Transfiguration classroom, the lesson had just finished and Harry and Hermione were absent he was in that same room, just him and Professor Mcgonagall her brown hair was tied up tightly in its usual bun, her robes were the very same shade of sparkling emerald green and she had a new addition to her appearance in the real world, a small daisy flower clip clipping back her fringe. He didn't know why he had began to have these feelings for her it had all started at the Yule Ball in his fourth year. The way she had danced so gracefully and elegantly her eyes the deepest shade of green looking around the room. She spoke the re-occurring words to him '' Hurry along you'll be late for your next lesson Weasley.'' He did the same thing he always did delay his exit by pretending to need help with his most recent piece of Transfiguration homework. He then left the same expression of melancholy on his face. Why hadn't he told her? Why didn't he say anything to her even in his daydreams? He returned abruptly to the real world as Hermione prodded him with her wand.
'' Are you alright Ron?'' She asked caringly.
He, Ron, knew she had feelings for him he had overheard her talking to Ginny at the Burrow a few weeks before during the Christmas holidays. He wished he felt the same; things would be so much simpler he thought to himself angrily. He didn't deny Hermione was quite pretty, she had grown more attractive as they had gotten older together, just the three of them: Harry, Ron and Hermione.
'' I'm okay thank you Hermione. '' He said gently.
She smiled and turned to continue with the work Professor Mcgonagall had set for the class.
He became immersed once more in his deep thoughts. There was only one solution, to be free of his feelings for his Professor, but he couldn't he thought to himself she was far too perfect for him. He ran away with all his images of her in his head again. She's in her 60's and off limits; she would never feel the same he thought to himself. He had seen the glint in her eye as she had talked to Professor Snape the other day. He sighed, but just as he was giving up hope he looked up to the front of the class and she was smiling at him, Ron.
