Connie slipped the brown, patent-leather pumps from her feet. While she rubbed the soreness from them her eyes fell on the discarded high heels. Sensible. Still, a little sexy.
Red sandals with a strap, that was the first pair she remembered. Always paired with lace trimmed white socks. Her mind wandered to the different shoes she'd worn throughout her life.

Purple peep toe jelly shoes.
Cheerleading sneakers with triangle color snaps to match her team's colors.
Doc Martens combat boots that made her mother cringe.
Flip flops galore.
