Chapter 1
It was a beautiful crisp fall day in Stars Hollow when Rory and year and a half year old Charlie are outside enjoying the weather and doing some yard work, Rory planting some flowers that she and Charlie had picked up at the nursery and Charlie playing around in some leave piles Rory had made for her to jump in earlier that day. Rory looked over at Charlie.
"Hey Charlie?" Rory says
"Mommy." Charlie says
"can you please bring me that orange shovel please?" Rory wonders and points to it
"otay mommy." Charlie says and goes over to the shovel picking it up beinging it to Rory
"thank you sweetie." Rory says taking it from her and goes back to planting and a little while later hears someone walk up into the yard
"hey Rory." a voice says
Rory hears a filimar voice and turns around on her knees.
"J...Jess." she says
"Hi." he says all friendly
"wh...what are you doing here?" she wonders still in shock to see him getting up off the ground
"just in town for a little visit, Luke told me that you guys still live here so I thought I would just pop over and say hey." he tells her
"I didn't know you had a baby." he says
"uh yeah we adopted her but she's my life." Rory says with a smile
"adopted?" he wonders
"yeah Logan and I had a tough time trying to get pregnant so we did the next best thing for us but she will always be and feel biological to me." she says with a smile
"oh, so how is he, where is he?" he wonders
fine and I don't know we don't see or talk to him much since he is living across the US from us living in Palo Alto." she tells him
"In California? But he has a daughter." he reminds her
"I'm raising her on my own just fine Jess." she tells him
"Just like my mother did with me." she reminds him
