"Levy-Chan!" I hear Lucy shout at me. I turn around to see her, standing just down the street, holding; Wait, are those tickets? "Lucy! What are those?!" I shouted back, grinning. She runs to me, through dozens of people, dodging bicycles. When she finally gets to where I am, beside a small book shop, she's panting and holding up 8 tickets.
"These- *gasp* -are- *pant* -the tickets to the resort! You know, the one from the raffle?!" She put both hands on her knees to catch her breath. "And I won!"
"Wow Lucy! That's great! Who are you going to take?" I asked.
"Well..." She began, "I decided to take Mirajane's advice and Invite everyone! Well, everyone I know and their plus one I guess. But It's still exciting!" I nodded in agreement and after a long she speaks up again. "So?"
"What do you mean, 'so?'"
"So, are you coming?" She asked me.
"Wait, Really? You're inviting me?"
"Yeah, of course! How could I not invite my best friend?!"
"Aw… So who else is coming?"
"Oh, well, you know, Gray, Natsu….Gajeel…" She wiggled her eyebrows knowingly. Friends could be the best, and that was most of the time; But, if you told them you had a crush on someone, they never forget it. In my case, I told her during a sleepover that we had. (In which we were playing truth or dare-you know the works.) I giggled at her and playfully slapped her arm.
"Who else?" I asked.
"Well, Juvia insists on coming, and I have to bring Natsu, and probably Erza, too, because she'll go berserk if we don't have proper supervision." She giggled. "And whoever Erza wants to bring along."
"Hey! How come I don't get to choose who to bring!?"
"Because you wouldn't have the guts to ask Gajeel yourself." Good point. I thought.
"Hey! I do too."
"Ok, then go ask him about it. Here, take two tickets." Lucy handed me two smooth tickets.
"Oh, fine. When do we leave?" I questioned.
"Oh, we leave tomorrow. Sorry for such short notice, but It'll still be fun. Imagine; A seaside cabana with amazing views, just relaxation." She soothed. "Ok, meet me at the train station tomorrow at 10:00 sharp. I've gotta go ask everyone else!" And with that, she ran off.
A vacation with Gajeel… That reminds me…training is soon... I ran out the door, grabbing my coat, and rushed out to Gajeel's house.
Ding Dong. A pleasant doorbell chime rang when I approached his door, as it always did.
"Shrimp! You're early," The tall, buff man answered. He raised an inquisitive eyebrow. (which, indeed, was incredibly sexy.)
"I know, it's just that Lu-chan won tickets for a vacation and she was wondering if you wanted to come. She can bring eight people." I said, not wanting to make it sound awkward.
"Oh? That sounds like fun, Gihee." He laughed his signature laugh, sending my heart palpitating a few beats faster.
"Ok, so you'll come?" I asked.
"Yeah, of course," He responded, strolling outside. He grabbed a ticket and stuffed it in his coat pocket before hanging it up on his rack. "Now, time to start training," he said.
One thing that I didn't like; Exercise. I was bookish and would rather sit in a library than go for a jog. This was a problem; mainly because it made training excruciatingly painful and meticulous. So, at the end of the day, my muscles were stretched to their limit.
"Ugh." I groaned, collapsing underneath a shaded tree. Gajeel smirked down at me, obviously pleased that it was working. He looked unscathed and still fully energized. His shirt was off and hung over his shoulder. Wow...
"Why do you come if you keep complaining?" He asked, jokingly. "Come on, let's get you cleaned up." We walked to his house from the field we were training in.
"Hey, where's Lily?" I had just noticed the black exceed was missing from our training routine. He usually came to help out, or at least to motivate me. He was always really helpful.
"Oh, he went to go and get some kiwi fruit. He'll be back later." We continued our trek in silence. Wow, it was really hot today! I was sweating more than usual. We arrived at his apartment, and went inside. It felt so nice to be in an air conditioned room! I couldn't help myself.
"Ah, it feels so nice!" I sighed, closing the door. "Do you have anything to drink?"
"Oh! Yeah, here." He walked into the kitchen and I followed, watching him take a glass from the cabinet and filling it with water from the refrigerator. I gulped it down as he filled one for himself. "You did a good job today, you're really improving. I eyed him suspiciously. Gajeel? Actually giving a compliment? Anyways, when I had finished my glass I went back to the refrigerator to get more.
I'm not entirely sure how it happened, but I slipped and fell. This wouldn't be unusual (as I was surprisingly clumsy) except for one thing. I fell on top of Gajeel, who had coincidentally moved right as I slipped so he was no longer stabilized by the counter. So we both took a tumble, eventually landing with me underneath him, facing up at him. My blush was probably just as red as his, which was a sunburnt-tomato shade. We sat in silence for what felt like ages, and then the moment came. He leaned down, ever so slightly, as if asking permission, before gently kissing me.
