Chapter One: Stable Psyche

There was a great disturbance in the Pit of Ruin that day.

Sands whirled through its depths, shadows climbed it's sheer walls like ivy.

The screams of the desert riled the mind of the two Krawl sitting, gazing at the crater's gaping maw.

"This is a sacred place for Krawl. Eellos gave his life here."

She was humanoid, a High Krawl, one of the two left after the Krawl's nemesis had laid waste to three.

There were oozing gashes running from her eye sockets, which burned a horrifying, igneous scarlet. Something about her seemed disturbingly human, more so than the tall, ravenous-looking man who stood next to her.

"Giving your life up for another is the way to go, I always say."

"It sounds like you, Jado." She laughed, eager to hear the powerful echo.

Jado to, was a High Krawl with intelligence far beyond that of a common Krawl minion.

Able to escape death by being bound to the developing Krawlosphere, he had recently been released due to a complication in Krux's master plan.

Krux imagined he could be of use.

"The humans are miscalculating again...why can't we find a place to just eat our fill in peace?" Anna, the first High Krawl asked herself dreamily, crossing her arms under her breast. She tilted her head to one side, bearing her teeth as if she were hungry. She probably was. "They want us dead. We want them dead for that. They hate us for being who we are. We hate them hating us. The cycle never ends. It never resists."

Jado glared at her with his beady eyes.

"Everything that exists must have an opposite, a negative. The humans are our's."

"Ha."

The two companions stood shoulder-to-shoulder, hidden by Jado's shadow, out of mortal sight.

Krawl are not evil, they are just trying to survive the same way humans are.

As a highly advanced bacterial species, they cannot live on the flesh of others, they need to feed on terrestrial matter. Thriving in the damp darkness like any bacteria would, it's a genetic conformity that binds them to their revolting reputation.

"Negative and Positive are words of human branding. We Krawl have more sophisticated means of keeping score.

CROSS! Scout the surrounding area! Make sure there are Krawl stationed at all of the ruins!" Anna threw her outstretched arm, covered in various Krawl rune markings to the Manahat sky. On her wrist, melded as one with her body, was a glowing read prizmod.

And out of that prizmod, came a Spectrobe.

An enormous, animated flying fortress materialized in the space above them. It made a hollow, whistling noise, stretching its wings before turning to face its master. "Go. I'll meet you back at Malik. The vortexes will protect you in space."

Nodding in agreement, Cross flashed his yellow eyes, taking off straight for the Great Desert.
