Bruce Wayne stood outside the school next to his grey Aston Martin, waiting for his daughter to be dismissed. No matter how busy his schedule was, Bruce made it a point to pick Helena up from school himself. Anytime he got to spend with her was precious to him.

A rare smile spread across his face when he saw his little girl bounding down the stairs. Her long dark hair was still in the pigtails Selina has styled it in earlier that morning. Helena looked up and saw him. Her sapphire eyes brightened. She ran to him with her arms out for a hug.

"Hey, baby girl," Bruce said, hoisting his six-year-old daughter up into his arms.

Helena giggled. "Hi, Daddy."

Bruce kissed her on the cheek. "How was school?"

"It was cool. We learned about bats today."

"You did?" Bruce said grinning at an inside joke Helena didn't understand yet.

Helena nodded. "A lady from the zoo came and brought a real one with her."

"That sounds like fun."

"Did you know bats wrap their wings around their babies, like you do to me with your coat when it's really cold?"

Bruce pressed his forehead against Helena's. "I guess that makes you my baby bat."

Helena giggled. "You're funny, Daddy."

Bruce smiled. "Are you ready to go home?"

Helena nodded and Bruce opened door to the back seat. He placed Helena in her booster seat and strapped her in before closing the door and getting in the driver's seat.

"Daddy," Helena said.

"Yeah, baby?" Bruce answered looking at her through the rearview mirror.

"I love you."

"I love you too sweetheart."

Helena had made a change in both Bruce and Selina's lives. Both had been bitter towards the world. Falling in love with each other had been a struggle, neither one truly ready to trust the other or anyone for that matter. When Helena was born they felt as though she was their second chance. A chance for Bruce to be a father and understand his own parents' last thoughts were only of protecting him, and a chance for Selina to be the parent she wished she had growing up.
