Percy sat at his desk listening to his teacher drone on about something, what he didn't really know but whatever it was it was lame and useless. He pulled out his phone and flipped through the apps. He tapped the pictures and pulled up one that was of him and Annabeth from when they were 14 after the saved their beloved summer camp. Out of habit Percy touched the necklace of beads around his neck. At the end of every summer at camp half-blood you got a new bead to add to your necklace. Flicking through the pictures from over the years he pulled up one of the resent ones. Annabeth was sitting with him on a couch down at her house in Virginia they were smiling at the camera curled into one another. The next picture was also from Annabeth's house this time they were sitting in her backyard on an old swing set.
"Am I ever gonna get to meet her?" Joel asked. Joel was Percy's surprisingly normal friend from school and always caught Percy at the worst times.
"Maybe soon man ok. She lives in Virginia so even I don't get to see her all that often," Percy said standing up and grapping his books.
"Oh yeah I remember you told me you were going down there for spring break," Joel said nodding.
"Yeah, so how long till school's over?" Percy asked, as the two boys walked down the hall to their next class.
"45 minutes," Joel answered his voice slightly agitated. He didn't want to be there any more than Percy did.
Percy groaned and walked into the class room. The last period of the day wasn't so bad since Percy actually kinda liked history, even though most of it was wrong but still it was fun to listen too. "Thank you for paying attention even though it's the last day of school," the teacher said. "Seniors you will be missed and juniors I will see you next year."
Everyone jumped out of their seats when the bell rang. Percy and Joel just kinda stood and walked out to Percy's car. Hopefully it would work today. As the two boys entered the parking lot there were some whispers going around then someone came up to him and said. "Yo Jackson there's some chick messing with your car." Percy and Joel made their way through people until they saw Percy's car and sure enough there was a girl bent over the engine. She stood up and Percy saw her blonde hair and smiled.
"What you think you're doing with my ride Wise girl," Percy called over to her.
She stood up and smiled. "Fixing it only you would know how to mess up a car seaweed brain," she called back.
"Well that's cause I'm better with a boat you know that," Percy said coming up behind her and hugging her.
"You do have a point there," Annabeth leaned her back into him slightly, then saw the other boy. "You gonna introduce me seaweed brain?" she asked.
Percy let go of Annabeth and turned to Joel. "Joel this is Annabeth Chace, Annabeth this is my saving grace of the school year Joel McCain."
"It's nice to meet you Joel," Annabeth said smiling and held her hand out.
"You as well, I've been waiting to meet you since you're all this guy ever talks about," Joel said teasingly.
Percy's ear turned red. "I do not, talk about her all the time," he defended.
"Yeah but when you do you never shut up," Joel said, Annabeth giggled, but quickly used her hand to cover it up. Percy smiled and put his arm around her shoulders pulling her close. Joel rolled his eyes but also smiled. "Well I guess I'll be leaving see ya around Percy."
"Wait where are you going?" Percy asked confused.
"I'm giving you time to spend with your girl, it's no fun being the awkward third wheal. Pace man," Joel said then met up with some other friends.
"Well that was nice of him," Annabeth said resting her head on Percy's shoulder.
"Yeah he's cool," Percy said. He looked down at Annabeth and smiled. "Annabeth."
"Yeah?" Annabeth said lifting her head off Percy's shoulder.
"Let's go home,"
She smiled. "Yeah let's go home."
