Chapter 2
My heart started to beat frantically, trying to escape the prison which is my chest. I stared at him for a while until my eyes started burning. The burning made me blink. When I blinked, he was gone. I stared at the place where he was standing, trying to figure out if I was imagining what I had just seen. Uh, what just happened? I thought while trying to slow down my frantically beating heart. When the chance for me to cross came, I ran across. Running made my calming heart beat faster. In the distance, I heard the faint sound of a bell. Oh, shit. Well there goes my un-grounded streak. I silently cursed myself.
I walked passed the front gate and into the building, heading towards my fist period. I opened the door. "Well, Kayla, nice of you to join us" said Mr. Gandice as I walked in. "Now everybody turn to page two-eighty-seven and read sections two through five" he said. In unison, everyone grunted. I was on page two-eighty-nine when four people in black came into the room. Wow. Nice sense of fashion I thought to myself. I watched as they whispered back and forth. "Kayla, would you mind going with these nice people?" As I was about to get up, he said "Oh, and take your things with you. You're not going to be returning." I gave a questioning look to him and grabbed my stuff. Everybody watched as I passed them on my way to the front. The tallest of the four grabbed my shoulder and guided me out to the hall. "What's this abo.." I cut off as I felt a sharp pain in my neck; that was when I blacked out.
