The discord of heartless
A poem for kingdom hearts (which I do not own.)
He marched alone, sweet solitude.
Away from home and heart,
To places cold and dark.
He sought to free his worried soul,
From chains of dreary day and night.
To seek the joy of unplanned life,
To choose his way for evermore.
He was sick of mediocrity, he needed something new.
To see the world as he might, and sights just known to few.
He sought for something out of norm,
For of boundaries he was sick.
To be without law or limit
That would do the trick.
He spotted then by side of road a shape of something strange,
Like insect shape and lantern eyes.
A beast new to his mind.
"Creature there with glowing stare,
What may I ask are you?"
"I am all that you shall seek, I am all that you crave.
I am the freedom so much adored."
The man felt all said was true,
That this was his salvation.
A way to leave the routine life,
And enter his longed for freedom.
"And what must I do oh shadow dear,
To receive what you offer me?"
"Tis simple man of lonely mind.
Give me the heart in your chest that beats so forlornly.
I shall eat all your sorrow, all your hate,
All that plagues the soul."
So hand and hand, heartless they were,
Born of dark and emptiness
So judge not the ones who steal hearts
For once the felt just as us.
To yearn for hearts that beat with more life then theirs.
