Haunt My Dreams

Raven black hair, as dark as the night. Ivory white skin, as delicate as porcelain. Emerald green eyes, that seem to see through his soul.

Sheep in wolf's clothing? No, Train thought, that wasn't what she was. She seemed innocent and carefree, but instinct told him otherwise. This young woman had gone through more than she would tell him. Not that she could ever tell him anything any more. She was dead, after all. Or seemed to be dead. No body was ever found, but that didn't mean anything. It was, after all, a fire.

Yet it was so hard to believe she was dead when she kept on seeing her in front of him in his dreams. She seemed as happy and carefree as ever.

But he knew it was just a dream, because he'd wake up, confused and slightly disorientated from the sheer disbelief of seeing her again, even in his dreams. Some would call it an obsession, the way she continued to haunt his dreams even after her death. Others would have claimed it was regret, even love that caused him to behave this way. He didn't really know how he felt himself.

He wondered why he kept dreaming of her, and how come her memory didn't fade away and leave him like his parents did. He could still remember the most minute of details, how she would laugh, how she would sing that song of hers on the rooftops, arms embracing the sky, the slight breeze blowing against her hair and clothes away from her face, like a phoenix rising into the sky -

And with all of this, he wondered whether it was actually possible to let someone who had meant so much to him go, or whether he'd ever stop dreaming of her.
