White curtains shifted in the gentle breeze from an open window, the sound of children laughing in the background as the distinct sound of wood groaning cut through the air as an elderly lady eased into a chair, her grey hair bunched into a sloppy knot at the base of her neck, a small content smile playing across her withered face.

I miss your smile,
I miss your laugh,
I miss you,
and that happiness you always had.

A tall man with short jet black hair, eyes as dark as night, and skin as pale as the moon stood smiling.

"I love you..."

But one day your smile had faded away,
I still remember how I felt that day,
Your warmth and comfort that was always near,
Your life and joy seemed to disappear.

" He's gone, killed, everything's a mess" a hand came up to brush through black hair

I want to scream,
I want to cry,
I have gotten to low points,
Where I just want to die.

"Don't die before I do"
Withered and aged hands reach out to a book and pull it into the empty lap. The cover is leather, brown and cracked with age. Pictures are revealed inside, a young women in a white dress and a man in a black tux, both smiling, but there is a difference; the woman's smile doesn't reach her eyes.

But the sad tears are gone,
Now that the damage is done.

The lady lets out a wet cough mixed with a sob. A picture of a man with black hair and eyes in a blue uniform falls to the ground.

Tears fall down her face and curve around the smile still there.

"I know that your heart belongs to another, but please let me have a small amount of happiness, even if you smile for someone else" Wide blue eyes bore into her soul.

And all I can do is smile,
I can remember all of the fun,

"I can't love you, my heart belongs to him, I will give you children and be what you need but I will never love you"

"I don't care if you don't love me, I don't want to see you suffer anymore."

The fun we had when it was just you and me.

Black hair buried in the crook of a slightly tanned neck, tiny kisses being left.

"That tickles!"

I cry, but they're happy tears.

An aged man is crouched down in front of the elderly woman, his blue eyes shining in concern. The woman's hand comes to rest on her neck the feeling of lips lingering.

"Its okay, you can let go now"
A smile making the wrinkles around her eyes deepen

"I think I'm going to nap"

The chair groaned as a weight was lifted from it, the elder rising and slowly walking to a door on the other side of the room. The elder man sat in the chair causing it to groan under his weight, tears falling knowing this is the last time he will see her.

When I'm looking back on all of our memories.

The bed springs creaked under the weight of a body laying down. If one were in the room they would have seen eyes that were a brilliant gold that could rival the sun dim as the light of life left them.

"You didn't die before me"
"I promised I wouldn't"
"I love you Roy"
"I love you Edward"

For the first time in a long time her smile reached her eyes.
