What would've happened if the Doctor had fallen through the void with Rose?

Part one of a (so far) two part series. May add more at a later date. Hope you enjoy part one, please R&R!

The lever fell down and the computerised voice announced, "Systems offline."

Rose struggled round to the fallen lever to push it upward to turn the system online to rid Earth of all the Daleks and Cybermen.

With all her strength she managed to get the lever up, all the while the Doctor was watching her with terror on his face.

The enemies were being sucked into the void as planned but he was more focused on Rose trying as hard as she could to hold on to the lever.

"Rose, hold on!" The Doctor screamed at her as he could see that she was slipping. Sure enough, to his horror, Rose lost her grip and was going to be pulled into the void but the Doctor would not let that happen.

He let go of the handle he was gripped to and flung himself in the direction of Rose.

Just before she reached the Void, he latched himself onto her arm. He knew things were more than certain that they were going to die but at least they would be going down together.

They were both ready to go through the wall when Pete appeared and grabbed Rose, the Doctor was still holding on to Rose as tight as he could, he was determined not to lose his grip. With a slam on his chest, Pete pressed the button around his neck and himself, the Doctor and Rose vanished from the room in Torchwood.

Rose opened her eyes to find that she was in a dark room, her arms so tightly round the Doctor that he was finding it hard to breathe. Jackie, Pete and Mickey were staring at the pair of them in front of them, mixed looks of shock and relief were plastered on Jackie and Mickey's faces.

The Doctor pushed Rose of him and took a mighty gasp of air. He looked at Rose in the face and said, "No way you're going anywhere missus" and let out a faint laugh.

Rose smiled back but couldn't help thinking why he had jumped to save her rather than let her fall. "Why did you jump?"

"I couldn't bare losing you. I've nearly lost you too many times before and was not about to lose you forever."

"What about the TARDIS?"

"It's going to be tough without her but I'm sure I'll survive."

Rose leaned into the Doctor and wrapped her fingers up in his hair. He pulled back slightly to look at her then before she knew what was happening, he leaned in and kissed her lightly on the lips.

His hearts leaped when she began kissing him back. They were so wrapped up in each other's lips that they failed to notice that Jackie, Pete and Mickey were all still watching.

When they broke apart, Rose looked up at Mickey who looked slightly hurt but he just began clapping his hands. Pete and Jackie joined in and the Doctor began to feel a little confused. Why were they clapping?

"If you don't mind me asking Mickey boy, exactly why are you clapping?"

Mickey showed him a big grin and replied, "Because you would rather be with Rose than with the TARDIS. That shows something, really Doctor, i could never do that. You must really love her."

The Doctor stood up bringing Rose up with him. He took hold of her hands and said to her, "That's because I do love her."

"I love you too Doctor" she said and pulled him in for a hug. If there was one thing she needed it was definitely a hug.

"So, where to now?" he said to Pete.

"Why ask me?"

"Because, Peter Alan Tyler, you're the one with the car."

"Ahhh" replied Pete. "Suppose we should head off for home. You lot can come and stay with me, my house is big enough, assuming you don't mind of course."

Jackie who had been unusually quiet said, "Of course we don't mind, It's not like we have anywhere else to go."

With that, all 5 of them set off to Pete's jeep and set off for the journey to their new home.
