Okay, I was at Sun Splash and got bored, so I wrote a poem for Ranger's Apprentice. This isn't the kind of thing you would expect from Sun Splash, but whatever. This poem started out as being about Will, but by the time I finished I thought it was more about Halt... It works for either, in my opinion. Take your pick.

Disclaimer: I don't own Ranger's Apprentice.

Surrounded and crowded
By your country's own
So many encompassing
Yet you are alone
The truth of yourself
Kept behind stoic eyes
So begins the false life
So begins all your lies.

As you travel cross-country
You are careful with trust
Your own judgement ignored
You do as you must
Hear the tones of the guilt
Hear the witness' sighs
Protect all you can
From false lives and the lies

Atrocities unrivaled
You can't believe they're real
Feel the anger grow inside
Know how the victims feel
Every and all willing to help
You see how each tries
But know you can't save them all
From false lives and their lies.

A closely knit Corps
Yet dire secrets lie in wait
Amiability so blatant
Though not abandoned is hate
Each member notes
What each other eyes
Keeping watch for false lives
And with them, the lies.

Now you are one of them
From the mask to the cloak
You let no one see how
You squander and choke
None hear your screams
No one hears your desperate cries
For you are the master
Of false lives and all lies.

R&R, pretty please! Tell me what you think.
