Okay, so my friend Katherine decided to write this ONE chapter, and dump the rest on me . so I'm sorry if the 1st and 2nd chapter's way of writing is different... If you wanna sample of my writing, go to the twilight archive, and search for Volturi Academy for the Endowed...and I share this account with her, so it'll still be written by Katfyre :)
More than Friends?
Ch1 ~
Clary POV:
Ugh, what was up with that idiotic Jace? Always jumping ahead just because he has a special jumping ability. Okay, I admit that I'm kinda jealous that I don't have the same ability as him. And the fact that I don't think anyone could catch up with him unless he wanted them to.
"Hurry up, Clary! We can't let the demon get away!" Jace called from somewhere WAY in front of me. I grunted and sped up, despite knowing that even at my pace, the demon would never be able to run away. Seriously, best friends could be a pain-in-the-neck sometimes.
After about a minute, I finally caught up with Jace.
"Don't go so fast," I said, panting heavily.
Jace smirked and immediately began to sped up again. "Don't want to miss the fun, right?" Not knowing what to say, I drew a rune on my arm to make me go faster. The images came to me naturally, a result of my late father's experiment.
"Finally becoming smarter, huh?" Jace asked with a playful smile on his face.
"Who knows?" We continued for a few minutes in silence and finally reached the location, the Pandenomiun, where the demon was. As planned, I was the one to lure him into a room, with Jace to finish him off. I appeared in the room as if I was there all along and looked around for our target.
Aha! There he was! Looking around, I noticed that all the single girls, and some of the unsingle ones seemed to be staring at him. I sighed, remembering how that was exactly how I reacted when I saw my first demons. Though I hate to admit it, but when you're a simple human, but demons are kinda hot.
I walked towards the demon and put a hand on his shoulder. He spun around supernaturally, and, thinking I was a mere human, smiled, took my hand, and led me to a room. The room where Jace was waiting for him. As I closed the door behind me, I knew that he felt that something was out of place. "Jace, finish him off." I took out my dagger and walked towards the door, blocking it.
"You..." the demon glared at me, then looked back at Jace, who now held a sword in his hand.
"Ready, little guy?" Jace said, taunting him. Then, in a flash that was unable to be followed by a human's eye, he struck at the demon, who dodged it. I threw a dagger at the demon, a successful distraction. The demon moved past the dagger, without a scratch on him, but was now in the waiting hands of Jace. "Sorry, little guy, but this ends right here." With a turn of the blade, the demon started disintegrating, cursing us.
"You can't curse a Shadowhunter, you lower demon." Jace called as it disappeared. I looked at my watch: 3:15 PM. We had time to spare. They expected us back at 4:00 PM. And considering the pace we came at, we could reach the Institute by 3:30. I looked at Jace, who was thinking the same thing. "Let's party!" he gracefully ran out the door and into the room with blazing lights. As I looked at the Pandemonium room, it reminded me of the time I found out that I was a Shadowhunter. Smiling, I sprinted after him.
Before I realized it, I was in Jace's arms, dancing. Okay, don't get me wrong here, but we were best friends, so this type of thing wasn't awkward. But, as I looked in his eyes this time, I felt a feeling I've never felt before. What was it?
