L can't work today… I wonder why…
The task force, including Light, walked normally into the headquarters to see L lying down on the couch, his hand dramatically over his forehead.
"Ryuzaki, what's wrong with you? Why are you lying down and not working?" Light demanded.
"I'm sick." replied L. "Sick with what?" questioned Matsuda.
"I am sick with homosexuality."
"What?!" yelled out everyone on the task force, including Light.
"Wait, you're sick of gay people?" asked the naïve Matsuda. Light whacked him on the back of the head.
"No. many people say that homosexuality is a disease. Therefore I am able to call in sick today until I am cured of my 'disease'." Ryuzaki sighed and rolled over, his back facing everyone else.
"Ryuzaki, it's not a… disease. And if it was, you couldn't possibly have it." reasoned Light. Ryuzaki turned back to face them, his eyes insomniac wide.
"Oh, really? And why not?" asked Ryuzaki, jumping up and facing Light. "Am I not capable of being gay? Am I not human enough?"
"N-no, you just don't seem like you'd be gay." stammered Light, feeling awkward about the conversation.
"So that's why you agreed to have Light chained up to you!" Matsuda chipped in suddenly. Everyone smacked him on his head that time.
"No, that was merely for the Kira case, nothing more, nothing less." Ryuzaki answered in his monotone voice. His answer still didn't ease anyone's confusion.
"So, are you gay or what?" Light asked, strangely anticipating the answer and also dreading it. Everyone leaned in as Ryuzaki took a deep breath, about to tell them if he indeed was gay or not.
"I, Ryuzaki…"
Silence….
"Am…."
More silence….
"Most undoubtedly…"
Too much silence….
"Gay for…."
Beginnings of gasps….
"My devoted…"
Wide eyes and shocked faces….
"Fanboys."
